I didn't know you had designs on Paradise, James?

Mon the Hoops indeed, particularly on Sunday in a potential title clincher @ Tynecastle!
Paradise is most definitely not located in the East End of Glasgow, or indeed any part of that god forsaken hole of a city.

No offence GlasgowSUFC but Glasgow is the most pikey ridden khazi I've ever been to in my life. I used to laugh when the advertising campaign "Glasgow's miles better" was being run. What were they comparing it against, Grozny?

Anyway mon the Jambo's, here's hoping that they send the weedgy soap dodging scum back to their tower blocks to contemplate a season of failure.

No offence Wessex Blue, I only live here due to the Missus being from Aberdeen & there was no way I was ever going to stay there permanently! If it was up to me I'd either still be living in Leigh-on-Sea or somewhere out towards Billericay or Galleywood.

When was the last time you were here? As with any 21st century inner-city in the UK there are a vast array of problems but certainly some are being addressed. The redevelopment of parts of the city centre have really brought this place on in the 5 years I've lived here & it is no longer the place you stereotypically think of after having seen a couple of series of Rab C Nesbitt! A lot of my friends from uni down south came up for our weddding party & were amazed at the quality of shops, hotels, bars etc. So although far from perfect "Glasgow's miles better" than it used to be.

Anyway, that slogan's dead now, it's now "Glasgow, Scotland with Style" which I find far more laughable!!!

I've got an East coast bias as the missus comes from one of the chavvy satellite towns south of Edinburgh.

I pass through Glasgow now and again on my travels, especially if I fly up to Scotland (Prestwick). Don't dispute that the shops and nightlife are good. To be honest I've never actually been out drinking in Glasgow so I'm not qualified to comment. What I find depressing about Glasgow is the amount of brutalist, soviet style architecture in the place. They must've had a competition back in the sixties to build the most vile housing schemes / tower blocks imaginable. Plenty of neds knocking about on aforementioned estates as well.

I've seen some of the new buildings on the Clyde at Govan which look pretty impressive. Suppose I've generalised far too much but that's par for the course.
