Good exercise and experience for the u21s coming from behind to draw 3-3 with senior mens and some ex-pros. Seems like Jason williams got another 2 goals.

Someone said one of them was Jordan Williams, we did have two Williamses listed in the team.

Some nice comments by a few on their forum:

"3-3 full time. Good run out for everyone. Thought Southend were tricky and played a good passing game."

"A fair result -- if disappointing, after being 3-1 up -- against a side who played some superb football."

Sounds like we've got a good bunch of youngsters in the first crop of under-21's. Brown appears to have already instilled his philosophy in them so hopefully we'll see a few make the step up this season.

any thoughts on the two young full backs? any ideas if they'll be ready to make the step up this season or whether they'll need more development?
would be useful if they were ready, and maybe a couple of others too

I like the look of Jordan Williams. His goal was strange - controlled a chipped through ball with his thigh and sort of bundled it past the keeper (who'd gone for a cuppa!) with a selection of joints! But he got into position well.

I was impressed with our number 4.
