No idea but it doesn't alter the fact that that is why he does it.

I thought it was established last season that by sponsoring the shirts, as opposed to just putting funds into the club to pay the bills, it got around FFP regulations ?

That may well be the case. When it first happened at the beginning of last season, I was at the club for something or other and SK was talking to a group of us explaining why MD were the sponsors. I don't remember FFP being mentioned but it makes sense. Of course if MD made a profit at all then it's still an allowable expense but as Mick has said they probably haven't for a while.
