Why are there three pages of thread on this? Agree with Beefys comments - it's a disagrace when our players or managers want to move onto a higher level, but it's fine for us to express interest in the players or managers of clubs that are smaller than us? I don't think so.

It's not a disgrace when players or managers move onto a higher level.

They get stick when they want to break their contract to make a sideways or backwards moves. They get stick when they agitate for a move rather than wait in a dignified manner to be approached.
 
Its a great story for Braintree this season. They are underdogs up against much bigger and more fancied sides that undoubtedly have full time set ups and big budgets.

To move to another club to try and move up the managerial ladder is understandable given that Braintree are unlikely to get much higher than 3rd place again in the national league.

Going to another failing side in the same division is potentially career suicide given that even with a better budget and full time staff its hard to improve upon a 3rd place finish.

If i were the two cowley brothers i would have held out for a league job where the objective is to stay in the league.
