Man City signed a player for £19m yesterday, but it has hardly been reported!

This is just crazy

Nigel De Jong from Hamburg incase anyone was wondering

More crazy is the fact that he had a clause in his Hamburg contract that would have allowed bids of just £2.5m to be accepted come June.

If you have the cash to spend £100m on a player then £16.5m is a small price to pay for some protection for the defence.

This is probably the best signing City have made this season in terms of what the team needs. Just need Richard Dunne to sort his head out and they should be much better defensively and much better away from home.

I agree in comparison to £100m it is small fry, however, in terms of the British transfer market, this is a huge amount of money!

Still Man City have already paid £19m for a player this season... and he wasnt much kop!

Where Man City would've had to compete with a handful of top clubs for his signature, as De Jong is rated as one of Hollands finest at this moment in time. Cracking signing for them that'll add some steel to the flair in midfield.

Maybe but Everton also spent £15m on a player this season and they're supposed to be skint. He's topping the yellow card and fouls tables easily, though. Someone in the press suggested he needs to be less conspicuous. I think he probably needs to not foul as much
