Essex 2017 stats

Champions go season unbeaten

The batting and bowling figures for Essex in 2017 show why we dominated

Batting

Alastair Cook - 667 runs at 66.70
Dan Lawrence - 761 runs at 44.76
Nick Browne - 952 runs at 43.27
Tom Westley - 561 runs at 43.15
Ryan ten Doeschate - 659 runs at 41.18

Bowling

Mohamad Amir - 14 wickets at 13.50
Sam Cook - 17 wickets at 16.58
Jamie Porter - 75 wickets at 16.80
Simon Harmer - 71 wickets at 19.40
Neil Wagner - 30 wickets at 35.63

Those bowling stats are extraordinary.

To have one player with an average under 20.00 is something, but FOUR!:happy:

When the season started, all the talk about can we win, and I honestly thought and said I just wanted us to consolidate and give the youngsters a season to be blooded.

Happy to report I officially know nothing after following Essex for 40 years, the youngsters played with no fear and lead by a great captain and an experienced opener , they gelled as a team both on and off

The future looks bright again after twenty-five years of hurt, and just as important so does the England set up

a few pictures for us all to enjoy the moment

Congratulations Essex, a magnificent unbeaten season. A real shame that the national press coverage, including the BBC, doesn't really do your achievements justice. Maybe if you were Lancs or Yorks or Middx or Surrey...............?

Great pics 'matti'.

Good to see Cooky there in them, as well, in his whites.

Top stuff to all involved.

100 percent agree, nothing in The Times today, if it had been Yorkshire it would have made front page

Poor media in National papers, they just cannot handle the truth :Worthy::happy:

Middlesex have lost, but Hampshire are four down, still needing 173 more runs.
