How the **** are Egypt so high!

They didn't even qualify.

That aside it looks about right.
 
Well it's based over a long period of time and we had a strong qualifying campaign (unlike say Portugal who went down 5 despite going out at the same stage as us), plus it goes on results not performances, we only lost to germany who are ranked above us anyway.
 
The remarkable thing is, it's on a rolling 4 year basis so we've just lost our 2006 WC Quarter Final finish. Most points are scored at the major tournaments and we now have just a single win from the last two (on the basis of not qualifying for Euro 2008).

I can only assume it's our almost perfect qualifying record for WC 2010 that keeps us in that position. It's heavily biased towards European teams as you get a bonus for playing against someone from a stronger federation (no matter how weak the team from that federation is).
