With the game going into extra time last night it was a chance to see how fit our players really are, and I have to say that IMO we looked in good shape.

I know that these guys are professional footballers and they should be expected to be able to run around for 90+ minutes, but a number of teams at this level tend to tire in the late stages of games and it was encouraging to see our players keep running at the opposition even with the score at 4-1.

Obviously the opposition looked a bit demoralised at missing a last gasp penalty, but we looked light years fitter than them in all areas of the pitch.

In the second half of extra time we had a number of attacks and if we could just improve our distribution at times we could end up winning a number of games based on our superior fitness in the later parts of matches.

T&B obviously had the lads working hard during pre-season, Bradbury looks like he has benefited from it and if he continues to work as hard as he did last night then he will make that position his own.

Whilst the performance at times was not great, and the fact that Cheltenham did have some good spells of play and possession, our work rate could not be faulted, it was great to see us battle even without the likes of Maher & Macca.

Moe.
