I worry for his development at the moment. The kid has no football education behind him at all and has been thrust into a situation on a wave of euphoria based on a freak goal....I’ve said it time and time again there are many many parts of his game that need honing, in an environment that allows him to make mistakes and try things out.

The hype is based on his performances (and in particular goals) for the youths. That's what got him his chance in an injury crisis. I don't think the plan is for him to play regular first team football this season so there will be plenty of opportunity for him to be playing with the u23s this season and then maybe a non-league loan spell. In the meantime I think it's a good thing for him to be training with the first team during pre-season.
