Nearly a third of the way in and its a pretty slow transfer market all round with just 19 signings to our league, If we can get a left back on to the famous "Deal Sheet " between 9pm and 11.00pm on the 31st January we can still register someone by midnight, last time we just missed out as the witching hour approached

Just as long as our fax machine is still working !

The #Southend chairman Ron Martin has said Sol Campbell has identified a goalkeeper, a left-back, a centre-half and a striker to bring in. He is looking forward to meeting with the squad this afternoon.
But we are not paying a fee for any of these so their actual clubs must pay the wages as we don’t have any money, I’d like to no how are we suppose to get these signings done?

What about midfield!? :Stunned:

Ron: "Three players we have identified out of five would not be loans. One's a centre-back, one's a striker and one's in midfield. There’s also a left-back and a goalkeeper. "

Standard procedure, divert fan attention from the **** show this week

Transfer fees tend to be paid in instalments over the course of a player's contract. And it may be that the first instalment won't be due for a while. So while it seems improbable that we can lay out on new players while not paying stewards, it is not impossible from a cash flow perspective.

Alternatively he's mentioned pretty every position so that he can put pressure on those at the club to try a bit harder to hold onto their place
