Managed to get on a table with Corbett, Hunt and Wozza. The fans were myself, Barry H, Terryinthewest, Robin Michels and someone whose name escapes me in my hungover state.
First off, Gower spills Barry's beer. Oooh you wide midfielder.
Anyway, the food was OK, the comedian hilarious (loads of jokes about the fat physio and loads of ribbing of Kights- apparently boning Jimmy Greaves granddaughter- how old does that make you feel).
Terry Alderton was good- loads of ****takes of Drewe's white boots, Tes' lack of intelligence, and Darryl's height.
The players were cool- although Barry went straight for the jugular and moaned about Che Wilson and told them about the slapper in Cardiff, but they didn't mind. In fact they were all quite cool about it. Nothing really amazing to report, really. except Hunt has a chat with the chairman soon about next season, Wozza hasn't been offered anything and neither has Jim. Corbett and Hunt were quite shy, I guess, but Wozza was good value for money.
BTW, neither Corbett or Hunt were drinking- but Wozza was- red wine all the way, but he loves a Guiness and black.
Spoke to Jenks afterwards- he's very uncertain about next season, but will post on here when/if he gets a new contract.
Brushy revealed that the new striker is NOT Iwan Roberts- he's too old and on too much dough. However the only clue he will give me is that the player is experienced. So plans are already in motion it seems
Tilly gave nothing away at all.
Player's player of the year was tight- Gower won it by a vote from Jamie Stuart.
What else- , all the players wore their LDV suits, except Nicolau who doesn't have a suit and Corty who took his dry cleaning and inadvertently shrunk it.
Che Wilson stayed till the end trying to chat up some girl who was the daughter of one of Barry's ex-bosses.
We then went clubbing and bumped into Macca. Amazingly everyone else went home because of training next day.
Couple more things- difference between League and reserve- massive, according to Wozza and Corbett. (Poor old Corbett). Wozza's best moment of the season- beating Col U (top lad). Corbett's- first game of the season.
What else- oh yeah- GK's speech was awful but he did thank Paul Yeomanson and Chris Berry which was cool.
Oh and the players don;t hear any stick unless they're taking a throw-in.
If I remember anything else I'll come back to you.
