Go to DFS, they got a massive 3 seat sofa through the most narrow door in the world by taking the whole thing apart AND gave us a lesson in how to get it back out when we leave.

How narrow is yours?! Ours is only about 25 inches ( 64com ) wide and 77 inches ( 195cm ) tall !

Apparently the half price sale DtS is talking about is on fabric sofa's only!

we got our sofa from DFS last autumn, that was leather and was included in their half price sale. Also, be prepared to haggle, especially with the sofa, as they have plenty of bonus margin etc that can be eaten into.

They managed to get it into ours quite easily, which is failry wide, but since it came without the feet on, which they attactehd afterwards, it made it a hell of a lot easier.

Best Buy are doing a LG 50'' Plasma for £499 this weekend at Thurrock. Also if you spend £499 or more on a TV before June 5th and England win the WC then you get the money back(where have I heard that before!)

Exchanged yesterday evening and we complete Monday week which is excellent news. Will need to get sofa and tv sorted over the BH weekend, along with some dining room chairs (as we already have been given a free brand new table) and a few other bits and bobs!

Need to get a hire van - any good cheap local suggestions!?

Kev, depending on your table, I'd say pop over to Battlesbridge, they have some amazingly good deals on chairs in the mill building. Not all ye olde worlde stuff over there, some good pine and modern chairs too.

Ha ha - moving into a new place and the first thing you're worried about is a TV

I'd have thought an Iron/Ironing board, hoover, duster and other cleaning materials for Em would be much more important together with a small fridge for beers and a comfortable armchair with ample room for all the remote controls for you

Always remember when purchasing a TV that you have to take in consideration the optimal viewing distance. The bigger the TV the further away you will have to sit.

Best Buy = Awful idea. Run out of all the good deals and a 45 minute queue! Raining. Wasnt going to happen. TV will be got tomorrow, be it in a shop, or online.

Got our sofa from DFS. The "Kirk" range if anyone wants a nose at the style. Chamois/Pecan coloured.

Need to sort out some curtains tomorrow as well, but luckily only need one set for the bedroom.
