Relegation Battle- Remaining Fixtures.

Whilst I don't think we will survive ( nor deserve to ) I did a bit of 'straw clutching' after a worst case scenario next weekend.
Let's assume we lose at Exeter and Col U beat Walsall ( both probable I think ).
We will then be 7 points behind.
WE MUST WIN against Col U , which was always going to crucial in terms of points swing , so IF that happens we will be 4 points behind with 3 games left.
Pretty tough , given our lack of wins and their superior GD , but they have 3 very tough games to end with.
Even reading this back , I don't believe it for a minute , but it's good to dream.

The only crumb of hope I can find for our prospects at Exeter is that we might be set up differently and this could (possibly) upset their tactical setup a bit. That won’t last for long though as they will likely reorganise during the game if this looks to be necessary. The wrong set of results next week will seal the deal on our relegation IMO.

I agree.
Another ( small ) crumb of comfort ( maybe ) is that Exeter have a ridiculously long round trip to Barrow on Tuesday .....

I do remember a 1-0 win at Exeter in are promotion season (admittedly with better players) brown was the master of grinding out those 1-0 scoreline that year to. Maybe he can come up with plan to get that vital win. I feel we have to atleast equal colchester result going into the game against them to have a chance. Its the hope which kills you :Thumbs up:

Very true - PB was an absolute specialist at the ground out 1-0 win wasn’t he? So much so I remember many (including me, probably) complaining about it back in the day! We didn’t realise how lucky we were, given how things have turned out. Ron has spectacularly mishandled things since, albeit always seeming to try to do the right things just ballsing it up. Oh for the days when we sacked managers for falling away from the League One playoffs!

If we are looking for those lucky wins to stay up. Phil brown is probably the man to do that! Phil brown is known as lucky manager at times. Lets hope the luck on are side.

We will help you out by beating Colchester on Saturday, the rest is up to you. Good luck !

I wish that I shared your confidence.
No disrespect intended , but a team that couldn't score and only got 1 point in two games against us doesn't give me much hope.

Fair points, but Walsall also have scored 41 goals to our 20-odd and have a goal difference of only minus 6. If they can’t beat Colchester then what hope have we got in the next game?

Yep, I was thinking of a similar thing. Carlisle had a fixture against Creepies on Tuesday 30th March and then had that long trip down to us the following Saturday, where they were quite clearly totally knackered!:Winking:
There have been so many 'must win' games over the past weeks of which we have only won one. Yesterday's was insanely important with a win very much keeping our faint hopes of survival alive, sadly we blew it...............again (and it wasn't for the want of trying) For me it was the moment that all hope of retaining League status evapourated. I just can't see us getting anything next Saturday, even a 0-0 is unlikely.................they have strikers who score goals! IF Colchester beat Walsall............not sure but possible, we'd be seven points behind (effectively eight) with four games to play. EVEN if we won at Colchester our future wouldn't be in our hands. Having dropped the two points yesterday the only hope take back control of our destiny is now for Cochester to lose on Saturday, whilst we win at Exeter and Colchester the following Tuesday. On our present form that's starting to move into La-la Land territory. By the end of Saturday afternoon the Fat Lady can stand up and start her vocal exercises. I fear by Tuesday night she can start singing without chance of a false note.

I'm more concerned at the end of the season ,if we go down and brown leaves who's he going to bring in ,can't see brown staying even though he might

All EFL games are being rescheduled due to Prince Philips funeral, so it might be either a later kick off or even moved to Sunday.
