Question Sawdust for Rabbits

Recently purcahsed a couple of Rabbits with the hutch and all the trimmings. When buying the sawdust from pets at home, we thought it was quite expensive for what it is!

Does anybody know where I can pick up a big bag of the stuff nice and cheap?

No, but can't you use shredded paper?

If not I've got a great recipe for Rabbit Casserole......

Woodyards sell it dirt cheap, i don't know where you are based but Daws Heath Timber in Daws Heath Road, Thundersley do a huge sack for about a quid i think

I'm no fan of rabbits or animal welfare in general but if I were you I would check the sawdust from the local timber yard doesn't contain dust from pressure treated timber, MDF etc otherwise you might be spending a lot of time travelling around pet shops with a photograph of a dead rabbit trying to find a convincing lookalike before the kids find out you killed the last one.

If you sign up for the Pets at Home newsletter or something like that they give you a discount code giving you 10% off if you order online and then pick up, ok, it's not a massive saving but we do it all the time when we buy stuff from there for our rats, may not be a massive saving but it's better than paying the full price!
