Memory Lane Southend Town Centre

Haha not far off. What gives away the fact it's 2019 is the fella on his phone. And no clouds of cigarette smoke.

I do and I don't miss the old boozers. I loved a pool table, a jukebox, a ****ty club upstairs but I don't miss stinking of smoke (this despite the fact I used to). I guess I miss my youth. :Frustrated:

Surprised you didn't see Wilko Johnson in there. He loves it. Sometimes when interviewed about Dr Feelgood or music from bygone times, he has the interview in that pub. The last one I saw was about the emergence of punk.

Yes, rubbish bands playing landfill indie to 2 men and a bemused dog. How am I almost 50. :Frustrated:

#meltdown

The band who were playing had a Dr Feelgood type vibe, it's usually live Blues in there and it's a funny old place, cheap beer and good music and full of 'old timers'. Haven't been in there years - it was rammed.

I'd agree with this - "There's a unique cultural thing that Southend has got and the Railway really represents that,"
It is really like a step into the past that place. Thought immediately of this thread.
I'll have to watch the Feelgood 'live at the Kursaal' video again I think, just for the opening shots of the pier/seafront.

Terrific photo and work there, too @The Big Dady

It would be fun posting that somewhere after editing the phone out and asking people to guess the year!

Lovely but sad new film "Christmas Spirit" directed by Andy Delany who previously directed videos for the Spice Girls and Duran Duran.

This short film is about boy who tries to help his dad deal with grief at Christmas in his own unique way, was filmed on location in Leigh-on-Sea.

It stars Curtis Flowers and introducing Bert Davis as the boy.

Highly Recommended
