This is pocket change for the big clubs. The point of prize money is so that clubs actually bother trying. The reality is that premier league clubs have stopped taking it seriously and started playing their kids precisely because the prize money is so little compared to what the premier league pays them.

Indeed. I think it’s about £2m per place in the PL. The top 6 concentrate on a place in Europe, the bottom 6 on a costly relegation.

Even two extra league wins for a mid table team can mean a jump up 4/5 places so an extra £10m..... Far easier than havig to go all the way and win at Wembley.

Sadly it’s not working at the moment - I’ve emailed Chris to see if the development site is down for maintenance or something - but I can’t connect to it to load up the games for ticket stats. We’re going to go into this one blind chaps!

He got into trouble in his first game in charge of Crawley Town. He ran onto the pitch to celebrate with the players when the winning goal went in. The Referee had to explain in his best Italian that this was not allowed in English football and booked him.
