Supporters Group News Statements and Protest Chat

I mean it was one of the worst ideas thats ever been dreamt of so I'm glad to hear it didn't work out. Whoever came up with it / agreed it was any good needs their brain cell(s!?) testing let's be honest. The reason it got "double" the social media impressions or whatever you want to call it doesn't mean it was a positive idea I'm afraid. The tennis ball thing worked brilliantly as it was kept pretty low key and garnered some decent attraction.

Back to the drawing board...
Not sure theres any need to slate the people who's idea it was.....

Everyones pulling in the same direction here.

I’m trying to get in touch with the protest group for some suggestions but can’t seem to message them on Twitter - anyone got any other links to the group?

Yes understand this view I actually believe there was an opportunity to pull it and when it wasn't, it left the door open to this perception, as the obvious majority were not listened to.
And these are prime reasons why a phoenix club won't work if it came to it. Those who see themselves fit to lead it, have to be able to listen, even if it means dropping pride.

Exactly this, if they had any decision making ability, they wouldn't be able to bite the bullet and swallow their pride if they had to. Probably hit back like some of the groups did on Twitter when someone said it was a bad idea.

I agree. Any ideas put forward should be considered, and evaluated, and the person respected for doing so. It wasn't the worst idea, just needed tweeking to make it workable for the majority to buy into and make it effective.

The fact the majority didn't by into it, was always going to make it void. So by going ahead with it anyway, has just caused people to lose faith in a project they've put money into, and question those making decisions with that money will make good decisions going forward.

The person that came up with the idea shouldn't be ridiculed. At least they have contributed to an idea, which cost nothing. But quite simply, it should never have gone ahead. That said, the group should continue it's work and hopefully we will all get behind the next idea, though, it does need a purpose.

My biggest issue with the initiative was the fact we usually start games strongly and the crowd being loud and getting behind the team is a big part of that. Let’s not negate our strengths. I agree nobody should be criticised for thinking outside the box but .. this one was a non starter for many reasons. Ok it wasn’t stuck to but it definitely had an effect on W block. Being silent in my opinion is not an option. Let’s be heard!

It did have an impact on the team. Speaking to a player before the game, he was confused at the protest, and funnily enough we took time to get going. Kev likes the team to go at it early, and that noise can be intimidating to the opposition creating early noise, giving the team an extra man. Don't understand how the crowd lifts a team. W block is a strong asset and though we had noise, not enough. Thankfully we found a way to win in the end so credit to the lads on the pitch. Ron has taken so much from us, we only took from ourselves though on this one. Lessons learned, we move on. Keep supporting the protest team.

No sure how it affected the players. Literally as the whistle went cheers went up and the West Stand was in full voice. It was a non-protest.

But it didn’t happen? It wasn’t silent at all.
