Terry does qualify - just needs to have been a registered player which he was. Tony Currie would be the same, came on the pitch to warm up, pulled a muscle and was never seen again .... both Terry and Tony would be top names to get on board!

Talking of "top names", Mohsni seems to be back within signing distance !!!

Yep, our SUEPA agents are already on his trail. Letters last week went to him and also Luggy who is now scout at Dundee United and we suspect was the reason they acquired Moshni. Just now have to hope Moshni can read ..................

Have a word with the ref for next game and put his face and SUEPA on a red card that should do it:winking:

Three more signed up this eve to bring us to 110: Tony Bentley (our fourth highest apps holder), Will Atkinson and Terry Alderton. Quite a mixed bag there.

A mixed bag, as you say. One an absolute stalwart of over 400 appearances, another a hard worker with around 150 appearances who was valued by some, more after he left and another who hasn't actually played at all but has been on the telly!!

Nicky Bailey becomes member no. 111. Brave man. Had a decent little exchange with him to sign him up to SUEPA, he was quick to agree to it. Be kind everyone - he was a top player in 07/08 and tho his leaving was not great a player's career is a short one and you need to make the most of it whilst you can. Maybe just remember some great goals and him being part of one of our best ever midfields.

Now on to try and find 112 ....................

Always was a fan of Bailey and glad he has signed up. Thought the way he was treated when he returned was disgusting. He was a great player for us and like you said football is a short career and he has to get the best out of a short time. I understand he didn’t do it in the best of ways but whenever he wore the Southend shirt he put in 110% in and I thank him for that.

What about when he captained Charlton and ran 30 yards to assault Christophe and then demand that Christophe be (rightly) sent off but was (wrongly) only booked?

Now if this were cricket that would be very unlucky .

Now no disrespect here, but it seems if you played even 1 minute for us, then you're a member. Sanchez Watt? Who?

I think this may have a bit more creedence if you restricted it to players who have played a certain number of first team games, on our books rather that a loanee otherwise this is going to run into the many 100s.

I think you're wrong. All members get to reconnect with players they played with - it's set up not for us, but for them.

Added Sanchez Watt, Adam Thompson and Martin Ling this morning - now up to 118 members (15 G/K, 29 defenders, 47 midfield, 24 strikers and 3 coaching/backroom)

I saw Sanchez Watt having a good old tussle with another ex-Shrimper a couple of weeks ago - Anthony Straker. 1-1 draw between Hemel Town and Bath City.

To add to Kay's reply to MK, ex players will simply get out of it what they want. We will arrange socials where they will get the chance if they want to meet ex team mates, sometimes after many years, learn via a regular newsletter what others have been up to, maybe re-establish a sense of belonging to the club they were once committed to, re-connect with the club and fans (again, if they wish) ..........

For the club it's a clear positive in that it's good PR.

For the fans they get the chance via the SUEPA social media pages to reminisce (something most fans like - there is plenty of that on SZ) and the chance from time to time to meet ex players

The Moody Blues campaign demonstrated to those involved much of the above, and so it was simply decided to do more of it in a more co-ordinated way. It is not for every fan nor for every ex player, but so far the reaction from all sides has been good
