I think (and I seem to be in a minority of one) that left back cover is a priority. Clifford for me has gone backwards in his development. Hopefully this will be his kick on year but if not we seem a little short of cover
But we don't play with FBs. So its LWB/LMF and we have plenty of cover because not only can NR go in there but so can Bridge, Mooney, Wood and others? So think priority is CB (left footed unless he's Polish) and another forward..

We have Lomas and Taylor, so have the cover.

I'd play Lomas Saturday and Ralph LWB, even with Lomas lack of game time.
Problem is in a back three the LCB has to cover the full back position and is often pulled wider. Which is why having a left footer is important. RB playing LB I come out in sweats over having watch Elvis play LB away at Portsmouth.

You want a few of them. Hit em hard and horrible early doors let them know.
"Hard and horrible..." ??? What we don't need are players going into the book within 5 minutes and not being able to tackle for the rest of the game for fear of a second yellow. I don't mind tough tackles...but I wouldn't support Southend players deliberately carrying out horrible tackles. Legs break...careers are ended.
