I started this thread and I have not said that we would get promotion at all.
I am not a Tilly superfan but he was treated ufairly by Mr.Martin.
Sturrock has done well with what Mr.Martin has given him.
After each game I feel the same about this man.Hate
If you want I will start slagging him off in the ground instead of getting behind the team.
I get my frustrations out on this message board rather than the ground
Some of you need to see what this man has done.
To say we have to accept this is just a joke

If fact i would have a thread moaning about ron Martin every day not just after every game, wake up FFS

But what is a thread actually going to achieve? It's all very nice for debate but it appears no one is a fan of Ron. In the absence of any alternative or clear way the fans can do anything to change things I can understand why some people just want to 'concentrate' on football matters. If others came up with a clear way forward as to how things could be improved for the long term future then I'm sure all other fans would be all ears, but I have yet to see any concise or clear alternative proposals for things.

I've got a really good idea. Because of Ron Martin we should all boycott home games just to make him realise that we blame him for everything including the late substitutions and tactical ineptitude of our previous manager and with a bit of luck the club really will go out of business........

Or we could just realise that the club / team need our support and this is really not the time to become any more dis-united that we appear to be. We all want the same things - we are all disappointed how things have turned out. Now we have lost the fair weather support we cannot afford for 'real'supporters to be so hung up on blaming RM for all and sundry (and I am as pi**ed off about it as anyone) that we end up with 3500 home crowds and absolutely unable to sustain ant sort of team that with time may be able to get us out of this division league let alone stay in the division.

no doubt I'll get shot down by the 'regulars' but this is not the time to self combust!

Are we going to have a thread moaning about Ron after every defeat?

Seriously, the amount of times the same thread has been created is just ridiculous. Find it funny how people can change their minds so quickly.

Tilson sacked - OUTRAGE

Sturrock hired and signs players - WELL DONE, TILSON WOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT

Lose a game - STURROCK OUT

Win a few games in a row - STURROCK = LEGEND!

Lose a game - TILSON WOULD HAVE DONE BETTER

YES, he mismanaged the club.

YES, he did gamble on players fees and salaries.

YES, he did spend money trying to push the stadium through (we all would have moaned if he didn't).

Just accept it and move on, it was a while ago.

Mate, you're so deluded it's unbelieveable.

Look at it like this. Imagine you're seeing a girl, and she gives you a dose of clap, but after a while, the same girl has got you some medication/antibiotics. Would you brush it under the carpet and act like everything was ok, and continue seeing the girl?

Depends how good she is in bed!

We don't have a team of awful players or journey men, or anything else that people might say!
We'll be in or around the playoffs at worst this season.
It isn't Ron's fault we can't defend ;)

Dave getting the onions back is one thing. Getting this team anywhere near the play-offs is another. 1 miracle at a time mate

Ha.
After losing a game I'm not gonna change my mind.
Against Torquay and Bradford most where raving how we where going to do well this year. I'm done with being fickle, I prefer to be optimistic.
I still reckon, playoffs this year!
It definitely would be a miracle though, but I believe in them. One game doesn't make a season.
I prefer to be optimistic because it makes me enjoy it more!!

UTB!

For goodness sake..... we lose a home game, and all of a sudden, the complete world is in turmoil, and everything is doom and gloom!! Please, get some perspective people!!

As I said on another thread, we're all aware of what happened last season, and how the club has fallen on desperate times, and who is ultimately responsible for that, but purpose does it serve by continually raking over old ground, and looking for someone to blame, when we can't change what has happened?

We got beat on Saturday because we made 3 defensive howlers - Partly, IMO, because our Captain and protector of the back four, was out injured. It's not RM's fault we lost, it's the fault of the back four who, for some inexplicable reason, pressed the self destruct button.

It's easy to say, oh look how far we've dropped, losing at home to the botom team in the football league, but let's not forget, Morecambe reached the play offs last season, and I'm willing to bet their league position is down to a post play off defeat hangover - they won't be anywhere near the foot of the table come May.

Aside from that, what gives us the right to turn up and beat a team like Morecambe? Answer, nothing does. If you take Bradford City as an example, they were a Premier League team no so long ago, have a super stadium, average between 10/11,000 each week, and yet have been in this division 3 seasons, and show absolutely no signs of mounting a push to get out of it this season - we don't have a God given right to win games at this level just because we were in the Championship 4 seasons ago.

I think people need a reality check. We're a League Two team right now, and we're a League Two which has had an influx of 22 players in a 6/7 week period, with a brand new management team. Does anyone honestly expect us to gel as a team this quickly? To be honest, some of the performances we've put in so far this season have been well beyond what I expected, and it shows what we're capable of, but so early in the season, consistency is going to be an issue until everything beds down. We have some good players in our squad now - our squad is arguably a lot more talented than the one we had last season, and I honestly thjink with a proven, and experienced, man at the helm like Sturrock, we will steadily climb up the league over the season, and maybe be in with a shout of securing a play off berth, but it's going to take time.

Mosni is a case in point - he has the potential to be a super player, but he's learning, and it will take time for him to learn and adapt to the harsh realities of League Two football, and the physical side of the game.

I think, rather than jumping around getting all hot under the collar, we need to give the manager and the team a little slack at the beginning of this season, and we need to start moving forward as a club - it's no use whatsoever continually harping on about what has gone on in the past - No one here is a fan of RM, but that said, he has still managed to get us a manager in place who, IMO, is better than managing at this level.

Everyone needs to pull in the same direction, and if we do, you may be surprised at where we end up come May.

Probably because evertime we witness a dire performance, it reminds us of what we've become over the last 12-24 months. With all due respect, it may be easy for some to accept we're a new team, and this is how it is so get used to it etc, but for others it is not. I'm still fuming about what's happend to our team, and will never forget it. What's happened has happened. That doesn't mean to say we should be happy/forgiving/understanding about it at all.

Really? I didn't/don't see any CCC teams coming in, trying to secure one of our current team's signiture. Similar I don't recall many L1 teams coming in for any either?

Then take our squad from last season. The majority haver gone on to bigger and better clubs in 1 and 2 divisions above us.

I think that's something of a moot point until these players start to play regularly and/or achieve something, to be honest... Those who have featured regularly for their clubs haven't exactly been earning rave reviews, and Barrett has already requested to go out on loan.

It isn't all opinion Grays!

Well you claim it's truth and facts. Point them out for me, yeah?

Here's RC's post. I've highlighted the facts.

To be honest, I can't agrue with any of the highlighted parts, as they are facts. The rest is opinion. Because you agree with it, you take ot as fact

The corresponding clubs ,ust have seen something in them in the first place though? More than what can be said about our current crop, who were not scouted by anyone??

I think the fact they were available on a free had a lot to do with it, seeing as they were on the transfer list for months before their release without a single interested party.
