use a template website, or blog software like blogger or wordpress to link to the mp3 files which can just sit on your webspace

In order of 'most expensive/least time consuming' to 'least expensive/most time consuming':

- Pay a professional (or semi-professional) to do it.
- Buy some web-authoring software and do it yourself.
- Do all the free web-authoring tutorials on w3schools and do it yourself.

The basic mechanics of webpage authoring are fairly straight forward - getting it looking good and professional is an art-form...

nice one cheers for that. ima total novice so ill look into some of these tonight

or pay someone to do it for you...its all gobbledygook to me

stereoscene - my way won't be the prettiest, or the most efficient, but is certainly the laziest :)

i've designed a few web pages using css.
it's not too hard to pick up really, and if it's just for podcasts it would probably be easy to do yourself but if you dont have time then just go to a free web template site. let me know if you dont understand anything.

Also, depends if you want to just share with friends/fans, or if you wanted stuff to be a bit more public domain?

For sharing with friends etc. you could just use things like MySpace/Facebook etc. or some of the more specialised music orientated social networking sites like MOG or Last.FM - I think these allow you to upload audio files, and also generally have a blog facility.

If you weren't too fussed about actually using your own domain, you could always use something like BEBO or the other ones who's names escape me at the moment. These are predominantly aimed at kids/teens to create their own webpages - some of the kids we've looked after in the past used them a lot. They allow you to create your own page based on a template layout. You can make them look a lot more adult, and some of them even give you access to the code created, so you could copy it to your own domain anyway. I distinctly remember one kiddie in particular uploading audio files to his page so it could fit the bill for you. The only downside being that you end up with a few ads on your page - which might detract slightly from the indie rock star image...

exellent thank you for the in depth reply. the ultimate aim in to have a site that features my band and a pal of mine who makes films and bring it all togther under one banner. so when it gets to that point i think ill give somebody some cash to create something a bit special. as now now i have the domain and webspace through work so i might as well start using it. to get people used to having a look round the site.

Afternoon chap,

I would have offered you the services of my personal web designer Hubert, but unfortunately due to insubordination, he will be spending the next few days nursing broken fingers and crushed testes.

Sorry about that..

Toodle Pip!

Matty have you spoken to fred he is an expert with the old website design! I am sure he will be willing to give you a few pointers.

Hi Stereo.

In agreement with the above, I've only started learning CSS in the last few months here and there and I have a pretty good grasp of it already, it's quite easy, especially when using dreamweaver as it has drop down options. If you're looking for a cheap option to get a bit of publicity I'd advise making it yourself.

Also, PM sent.
