Good.That's one I like!

The very early ones (Murmur, Reckoning, Life's Rich Pageant) have some stonking Americana tracks - Radio Free Europe, Driver 8, Don't Go Back to Rockville, Wendell Gee. There's an IRS compilation with their early stuff, I highly recommend it.

Driving back from Chelmsford this morning when Radio 2 presented me with this. Hadn't heard it for years even though I've got the album (urgh, that sounds like Barna saying that). Anyway, Paul young when he was and the Streetband, ladies and gentlemen I give you........

There's lots of my stuff I haven't heard for years -with a record collection of nearly 3,000 CD's plus cassettes and vinyl, that's not too suprising, which is why putting my Brennan on random play often turns up some unexpected pleasures -like listening to some forgotten Billie Holiday this pm.

PS Saw Paul Young in Barna back in the 80's.Thought he was pretty good.:cricko:

Listening now. Absolutely love Adam Curtis' stuff.

It's very Adam Curtis, as you'd expect, and I can't tell if he's being serious when he brings up the Disney/CIA/Illuminati brainwashing stuff, but there's some really interesting and thought provoking concepts in that 90 minutes.

Particularly liked his idea that in the future swathes of the public will reject the internet because of its depravity in much the same way that they have exchanged cities for the suburbs, and soon online will just become something of a playground people dip in and out of purely for enjoyment.

I think it was tongue in cheek, there was laughter and dismissal of the nutso conspiracy theorists. Hello Mrs Blue.

...BTW, don't think I've ever cried over a song.
