What School, Form and Departure year?

Yep, you're right, Ron Curtis played (and still does I think) for Hadleigh and Thundersley CC. We all had a major pash on him when we were in the 3rd year, and I actually became great friends with him outside of school. I remember he took the lead role in HMS Pinafore when we put it on in the 6th form and got drunk on the last night, and he drove a bright red Triumph Herald.

Mr Harrison's wife was my English teacher, she committed suicide during the summer at the end of our 3rd year.

Are these things related ?? Ladies and Gentleman there is blood on someones hands here !!!!!!!!!!!!! :sherlock:

which one? The female one was OK, the male one was a bit odd...

Both were totally mad.....

I had Mrs for Biology and she'd do this thing where she would drone and drone and drone on getting quieter and even more monotone and just when you were about to actually drop off - she'd make a really loud bang by smashing something down on the desk!!!

Mr was quite funny, but really harsh to some peeps! Not sure if all the legendary stories such as him letting down Mr Frampton (Headteachers) tires down or undoing 6th formers bra were true! He did used to write on kids foreheads with board markers.

Apparently someone went round there house and there were hardly any floorboards!! (They egged the house and then got invited in..... )

The male one......

Just he paid our school a visit once (WHSB), coming into our form room and going ballistic at one of my friends...grabbing him round the throat etc. Was surprised it all got brushed under the carpet...an oddball indeed.

Did you have fun with the Doc too? We only had him in the afternoon and used to run riot! Then he'd always grass us up to Mr Thomas who'd try to rely on me, my mate Gav and my mate Pete.... The Doc used to blame us, but it was the whole class really!

Yep, that's why we didn't have him anymore after year 9! Those 3 years were the best, with his form times in the morning and afternoons. I got him for GCSE double science too, which meant I learnt nothing but it was my favourite lesson.

I love the man :D

Incidentally, I too am a SHSG boy now. It's a good move to make!

Did you call him Basil? He HATED that.... (from Basil Faulty)
We also used to all limp around the classroom and imitate his speech impediment. Harsh, very harsh....

Yeah its a good move... hated SHSB, loved SHSG

Yea spot on there. Without starting rumours or libellous court cases, he was involved in a similar incident at our school that meant he was on "sick leave" for a year and a half.

Had him for Science in Year 8. Kept calling me Andrew for some reason, my name resembles something not even close.

We didn't, no, wish this thread came about 3 years ago now!

His limp is nasty, his shoe has a huge sole.

Gerry Harnden was teaching when I was there!

Form teacher was Mr. Thatcher if I remember correctly. Certainly never forget the head, Mr. Eddie Morris.

Eddie Morris retired in 1988, one year after I started. Frampton took over and has only just left himself.

I see Mr Cannell died recently - that was sad to see.

Another of my ex teachers! Is he (and so on, and so forth) still married to the German teacher? They stared dating towards the end of my time there.

blenheim infants & juniors 68-74

westcliff high 74-81
form masters were:
jones (a really nice man, had been a boxer before becoming teacher), maughan (who I think was still there until recently)
barton (who always wore a white lab coat)

the year I was in at westcliff about 80% of the intake was from west leigh school - does that still happen?

Yes, I think they are still married! She came in as a substitute teacher a few times, did Mrs. Wringe.

Maughan!? Dudders!? Didn't realise he'd been at the school that long! I left in 2007 and had him for A Level History, Year 9 history and Head of Year Nine ("Quiet, year 9!"). When I left a year ago, he was still a very prominent and heavily-teaching member of the school, so I'd be surprised if he left! We dedicated a whole section to him and his hilariously stupid quotes in our yearbook. Remember him leading our trip to Russia in Feb 06 as well.

Re. Westleigh, they don't take up that mich of the intake! I'm not sure what it's like now but they certainly sent more boys and girls to Westcliff than any other primary school did when I entered year 7 in 2000.

Edwards Hall as well? Remember any of your teachers? Mrs Rolfe was the Infant Head and Mr Hepple in the Juniors I think, oh and which house, I was Danes' Girls' House Captain and we won the Sports Cup for the first time in donkey's years that year!

I remember Mr. Hepple, nice man. Teachers I remember:
Mrs. Pratt - she never taught me but used to organise the athletics team.
Mr. MacPherson - He was my form teacher for at least 2 years.
Mr. Jones - I never liked him - and I think the feeling was mutual.
Tall balding man with a beard. Used to run the football team. I didn't like him - he never picked me for the team! :'(

Struggling to remember any others, but then it was over 40 years ago. :stunned:
And I don't remember any of the house names, but I think I was in the yellow one!
