Does anyone remember Col U away in March 1977. Over 6,000 on in total and hundreds of us all over their apology of a ground in all four stands (prob 2/3 of the att) and a proper firm as well. Good job we won or parts of the ground might not have stood afterwards.

Great day out Colchester fans turned up to the ground and didn't even bother going in, we had fans on all sides of the ground.

How many did we take to Scarboro in the cup?? I thought there were at least 1,500 as the incentive was a guaranteed ticket for the next round against Chelsea.

I remember that one, we lost 2-0. And some cretin let off a tear gas cannister or smoke bomb during the game which did wonders for my eyes and 100's of other Blues fans in the same area.

I remember getting off at Shenfield and being lined up against the subway wall and being searched by Ipswich CID
Then loads of the older blokes piling into the Off licence and walking out with barrels of Party 7's :smile:
