Come on... Own up!

Who is the Shrimper who I have caught this week on his phone viewing the fine pages of Shrimperzone at Limehouse station of an evening standing on the platform waiting for a Shoeburyness bound train?

Roll up Roll up!

Never liked the name being changed it will always be Stepney East to me. Anyone else remember the days when no-one ever got on or off there.

you must be an old fart like me. I always say "Limehouse, my arse" when the train goes through. Poncey affected nonsnese.

Must surprise some of your fellow passengers !

More "retro" than "poncey". The original Limehouse station closed in the 1920s.

but that was a few stops further up the old Blackwall line from Stepney, later Stepney East

Stepney was the 5th station from Fenchurch st back in those days !! (4th once Minories closed)

WTF? It's only 3 tube stops!

I always thoughts it was more South than East of Stepney.

I remember the politically aware graffiti, daubed in emulsion rather than spray paint, on the Shoeburyness-bound platform - "Smash The Nazis". It also probably dated from pre-WW2 as well.

Shame the London and Blackwall Extension isn't still open, that would have been pretty handy for me for home games!
