There are a number of examples currently in the National League System, most notably FC Halifax Town, Hereford, Darlington and Scarborough Athletic.

They have all reached a level similar to that departed by the previous club. I haven't included AFC Wimbledon in that list as they were a breakaway (with good reason of course).
Damn, forgot Halifax in my summary of Phoenix clubs, they also managed to stay at their stadium (they share with Halifax Rugby anyway?) also Chester.

And while typing this, I suddenly remembered Accrington, Newport, Maidstone and Aldershot.

Most of these clubs have slowly made it back to around the average level you'd expect to find them in the pyramid. Arguably, this iteration of Accrington are managing to punch a bit higher.

Absolutely not interested in supporting any club unless it is Southend United. I have a near 150 mile round trip to Southend and wouldn't entertain the experience of watching football at Step 5 or 6.

Instead I would divide my time between Stowmarket Town or Needham Market.

I would have no interest in supporting a phoenix club. I support Southend United, established in 1906. When IT destroys the club it will be like the death of an acquaintance. My Mother died 18 months ago and my Niece on new years eve. They cannot be replaced. All I have are memories, good and bad. A phoenix club would mean nothing to me. I might just as well stay local and support my 'home' team. Lowestoft Town.

Can't believe I forgot those!

Accrington arguably the first, although there was an absence of around six years I think.

No, where is the money going to come from to pay for the league fees, the insurance, the pitch fees or a decent pitch in general and the kit, who would pick the manager and the players etc

I think people need to appreciate that at this stage there are far more unanswered questions than answered. The working group has been formed for what, 2 days? And at the moment it's about understanding the process, what needs to be done rather than small details that can be dealt with when needed rather than in the contingency planning stage.

When I look at Halifax, Hereford etc I still see the old clubs, just with a slight blip on their roadmap. I'm sure others would see US this way if we were able to keep as much identity as we could. I doubt it would be Roots Hall, and definitely not Fossetts so a home would be critical. That feels the biggest barrier right now.

I would support us as a Phoenix club but to be honest my love for the club however strong is nowhere near where it was 5 years ago. I used to be proud of Southend United as a club. Now I am just proud of our history. If you took away the history... I am really not sure what is left. But I'd definitely go on the ride.....

Sadly I cannot get my head around the question at the moment........ possibly my head says I would support a Phoenix Club but my heart says I dont want SUFC to die !

There are positives to a phoenix club.... 1 being no more ron martin, which currently starting to feel more an attractive option as the days go by. I don't want to see the end of Southend united but same time I don't want to support a club who constantly has off field issues!

If you think there would be no more "Ron Martins" then you probably kidding yourself a bit.

I would even caution any new owners we get. Very few owners get involved in football for the love of the game without an ulterior motive. Ok, it may not be this "Ron Martin", but we will have others no doubt.

I’d only support a phoenix club if the real Southend go to the wall.
I’d also like to offer my vast knowledge of running a football club at step 5 if needed.

It could possibly be step 6 Thurlow Nunn south but hopefully it don't come to that
