Surely we will get Blocks Y and Z too (think that's what they're called - further into NW corner)... Can't imagine Col U shipping another 500 tickets so segregation should still be fine.

How many do they hold?

Hope the south lower fills up nicely, nothing worse than seeing that stand on TV half empty. How many does it actually hold?

South Lower holds about 1,100 so will look full and I expect most of those 237 South Lower tickets will be sold anyway.

No chance we will get them as they are really part of the North Bank and as Colchester bringing 1,500 they need access to toilet facilities in North West corner.

469 home tickets left in total. Can't see all those being sold. Given that we can't even sell this game out, surely there is can be no justification for moving to a stadium twice the size? (Not that there is any chance of it happening!)

Im guessing the online ticketing has gone down, just checked and the stadium is completely sold out

Is this a serious post!? It has to be tongue in cheek. If not it needs some emojis.

Go back to our last time in the Championship, we were selling out pretty regularly then. It all depends on the status of the opposition and the league they are in when it comes to bringing out the 'now and agains'. If/when Fossetts Farm is up and running then we will fill the majority of it, especially if we make it back to the Championship. Lovely and traditional as Roots Hall is, it just needs too much doing to it now. It's certainly not up to Championship standard.

Our last few home attendances

10,099
7,134
8,767
and Saturday possibly 10,000 again.

Pretty strong attendances, so far averaging 6,600 but that will increase to over 7k over the entire season Im sure.

So one season 10 years ago we were in the Championship, therefore we need a ground 3.5 times our average attendance?

Brighton has a similar population to Southend had similar attandencies to us. They built a new stadium and are now getting 25k+ per match. They even had to extend their capacity (initially 23k now 30k). There is no reason why we could not average 15-20k if we move to a stadium.

This. Anything else is short sighted.

You are assuming that it was the stadium alone which caused the improvement in fortunes. A new chairman and significant increase in investment in the playing squad was what improved the quality of football which is what increased the attendances.

Without Ron Martin being replaced with somebody who is prepared to spend money on players, we will stay in the lower leagues and once the novelty of the new ground has worn off attendances will be lower than present as it will be far less accessible.
