Here is something for you to consider. UKIP are a party who until recently didn't have an MP. The Greens do. SNP do. PC do. The Irish Parties. Yet it is UKIP who get all of the media attention. Of all the "minor" parties, they have appeared on Question Time more than 50% than all the others put together. The media is UKIP this, UKIP that.

And you know that the likes of Daily Mail et al don't really want Farage and his headcases in power, they want David and his Old Etonians.

Its not an unrealistic step of logic to use the media to force the Tories further right to remove the UKIP thread, keep a Tory Government and have a Government sponsored free for all on immigraion (which is exactly what the media want).

I would not be surprised, and only time will tell, to see UKIP spectacularly fall from grace in the next two months and Cameron sweeping up their policies.

Just a viewpoint.....

Do you really think that the Daily Mail has the same influence and reach that the unashamedly leftist BBC does? Don't you think they put UKIP on Question Time so that the audience of commie stooges can throw them hardballs?

If the Tories want to stay in power, they should move to the right. It isn't the media who want immigration to be curtailed, it is the majority of the English people.

Wondered how long it would take for Labour to jump on the bandwagon!

Just read the above article where it mentions a poll for the up coming election. The LibDems currently on 3% with the Greens and that slime Clegg talks about who he will be in government with after next election. I would rather labour won than see that **** in government.

At least 4 of my uncles (ie his brothers) and some others. There were qite a few casuals, including SU players, such as John Kurila,Billy Best Sammy Mac. and John Mckinven. Also remember Peter Watson visiting our house but I don't think he ever did any work for my Dad's firm.
Although I worked on his sites in SOS for a couple of summers, back in the 60's, I really can't answer your question accurately.I just don't know.He also had a big site in Beccles,(Norfolk), which I never visited.

Are you saying your mother was an inmate at Runwell, or also worked in the canteen there? :winking:

My mother was an inmate many times and made many a cuddly toy.

Your parents by your own facts were not working class, just because he had BUILDER as a job title does not make him working class,he employed people uncles or otherwise thus i put it to the jury he was for the times he lived in very middle class.

It's always interesting to hear the Fox news outlook. I especially love the McCarthyist labelling of anyone to the left of Goebbels as a 'commy stooge'. As I think you've admitted, you don't watch the BBC but maybe you get to watch Question Time. Either way, your delivery is all a bit 1983, isn't it. The Tories don't win elections over here any more. Moving to the right would just remind people why that is. It won't affect you, though, will it.

I look forward to one of your 'shut up, poo bum' fastos.

Shouldn't you be updating ShrimperZone in your lunch hour and not while your supposed to be working?
No wonder the economy was such a f*** up under labour.
What is it with UKIP voters ability to take on board simple information. I WAS on my lunch break so Callan got a short reply. He then made up some fanciful dream about a mothers meeting.
#focussing on the wrong thing

They came closer to winning the last one than Labour, didn't they?

Just so we are clear, I moved to the US in 2011, and have spent the majority of my life living in England. Unless there has been a fundamental change in the BBC's philosophy in the last 3 years, I would imagine that I can still speak about it with a degree of authority. I'm not entirely certain why my delivery is 'all a bit 1983'? Perhaps because it's scholarly and thought-provoking, it strikes you as old-fashioned, in a classical sense of the word? Or maybe by your dredging up of the McCarthyite mantra, you are proclaiming anyone to the right of Mao as a creature of the past? I would remind you that a few years after 1983, the Soviet bloc was defeated and the Cold war was won. Capitalism triumphed over Socialism. Why that would lead to this inevitable shift to the left is quite beyond me. Labour made itself electable by moving to the right, and the Conservatives would make themselves a damn sight more electable by doing the same.

Even at the 2010 election UKIP had a greater share of the national vote than both the Greens and SNP. If you go by the last election that the whole country could vote on (European) the UKIP had approx 28%, Lab 26% and Cons 26% hence why based on both results they get more coverage than the Greens and rightly should allowed in the TV debates, maybe at expense of the Lib Dems who are likely to be the fourth largest party based on national share of the vote at the next General Election.

Edited for accuracy.

Amuses me that you think you are scholarly then you write this on another thread two minutes later:

Kick trite self-righteous crap into touch. And show it the Red Card. FFS, wake up.
