Well as he was there, maybe he should have asked some of the more pressing questions.

Indeed.

I don't quite understand how mocking somebody's concerns in the press is going to achieve anything, no matter how trivial they are. I don't think that the tannoy system is a pertinent topic for an AGM, but as a shareholder he's entitled to his opinion and doesn't quite deserve to be aired out in the Evening Echo.

Anyone there would have heard my very pressing question and the reply from the Chairman who stated "Sainsbury's are not bank-rolling us, we are in partnership" amongst other replies

Every shareholder is entitled to ask questions but when over 50% of the time was spent asking the sort of questions could be answered by other means, such as a Trust liaison meeting maybe everyone felt that they were happy and everything at the club was in order.

Just wondering why Mr Jarvis didnt ask any questions himself? rather than sounding off for the Echo...just wondering?? :whistling:

I for one was suprised by the lack of "proper" questions directed to Ron. Reading all the comments on here over the last few months i thought someone would actually ask something a little more probeing.... I supose deep down everone is greatful that Ron fundamentally pays the bills and puts in the £2m each year to keep us going.... correct?

If you had read the post prior to yours you will see I did question the Chairman. I will accept your apology.

Didnt realise that was your question.. For that i stand corrected.

To be honest i think the majority of us knew that Sainsburys are not giving SUFC money for the sake of it.

"Keen supporter Scott Peters"...

Is that going to be just one more Echo moniker to go down in history along with the "versatile Andy Sussex" and "Dead ball specialist Simon Livett"???
TrueBlue will always been "keen supporter Scott Peters" for me now...

I asked if Sainsbury's would continue to bankroll us next season to be told SUFC are in partnership and all monies lent have guarantees away from Roots Hall. He said that Sainsbury's wanted to get us away from RH soonest ---- something we all probably knew anyway. I was there as a proxy for the Zone and technically I don't think I was supposed to ask questions anyway.

I will never forget the classic "orb-thwarter Darryl Flahavan"!

Maybe the people who asked these questions aren't Trust members? Not every supporter is you know! :whistling:

Personally though I do agree these points would have been better raised in another forum, maybe in a private letter or email to the club in some cases, although if Trust members have issues they are quite entitled to bring them to the Trust's attention and as you rightly say, they could then be taken to a liaison meeting. Incidentally, for any ladies out there, that's how and why the ladies' loos in the West got fixed recently!

Kay, most of the people asking questions were older and I am sure would be Trust members, I know I have seen a couple at Trust AGMs. If they are not Trust members Beaver is failing in his job.

As you know Ken, I wasn't there so can't really comment. The facility to raise what are maybe more personal issues is possibly not known to all, and maybe is something that can be brought to members' attention via a newsletter, I'll certainly mention it. However, you will ALWAYS get those who are of the more traditional AGM types who will want to discuss things which are seemingly trivial, because that is what was always done at AGMs. All cosy, in a small room and with tea and biscuits, it's only since the share issue that more people have become involved and therefore more people want to speak.

I also think that people have had so much experience of Martin's answers to questions over the years and his apparent contempt of fans that some people may feel it is pointless asking him anything as he gives politician's answers and swerves awkward questions. Perhaps we need Jeremy Paxman at the next AGM.

If the women had the foresight to use the toilet before they left home, then we wouldnt need to spend money that could have been spent on new players / the new stadium on fixing their sh!tters. This is a perfect example of why women should stay in the kitchen.

I hear you player!!!!!

PREACH IT!!!

I see Interpol / Glasgow said his bit, shame they didn't ask him how many times he has been to RH in the last couple of years....

I wouldn't be suprised if his comments were sent to the echo before the AGM even took place...

To be fair, Chris asked for comments on his FB page and said that some might be used in the report so I'd guess some of the quotes at least, came from there.

Just cos you blokes can **** in the wind if you want to after a pint or three, we ladies can't! We need the privacy of a cubicle, preferably with a seat, preferably that's not trouser hem deep in water from a cracked pedestal and preferably with the door support not at an angle of 60 degrees!
