Alison Moyet

She is performing in Ipswich on Weds and Mrs SS and me will be there.

Last year she read out a request from us in front of 1500 Tractor Folk and declared herself a Shrimper, this year am looking to go one better and to see if I can get a meet up with her and pic etc, will be looking for oppo to quiz her of course on SUFC and in partic my previous requrests to get her to turn out at RH and perform 'Blue'.

Will let you all know how I get on.

UTB

PS: Watch Graham Norton on Mon eve, apparently she is on with Dr Who. For those who haven't seen her for a while you will see she has slimmed down a bit.

I can't believe the grief Alison Moyet is getting on this thread because she is a 'celebrity' and hasn't rode to the rescue of the club.

It's a bit like that rubbish about not wanting people sitting in certain sections because they weren't singing loud enough for some people.

We all support the club in our own way and whether she chooses to put money in to the club or not is her decision, not mine or anyone else on this board.

Shes not getting any grief I was questioning how much of a supporter she is as I don't recall personally seeing or hearing anything from her but I have been told other wise so end of story.

My dead body before a ****ing woman saves this club! Excluding Karen Brady if she lets me pole her

Then why start a thread with "Does anybody get the impression she does not give a **** about SUFC?"

Perhaps you should start a thread apologising to Ms Moyet.

Kiss arse to a celebrity?

Why start a thread? its a question you either do or you don't

AND if you take the time to read up chap you will see I conceded that my view was unfounded

Celebrity fans are generally embarrassing

Alderton is the worst. I have seen Southend away at over 100 different grounds over 20 years and never seen that ****!

Imagine if Jupitus started wearing a southend scarf on Buzzcocks?
I'd be sick

We've seen Terry Alderton at quite a few matches, including a midweek away game at Brizzle Rovers. I know he was at the play-off final too because I met him in the concourse, shook his hand, and was so happy I forgot to let go :)

Come to think of it I haven't seen him since, probably scared him off.

Don't see why you'd give him grief on here anyway. So what if he's a supporter who watches from the armchair now, or can't make matches due to work commitments. He's not exactly unique in that is he?

As for Phil Jupitus, as I understand it, he's a Hammer who gives some support to his local club as well; again, not exactly a crime.

We're not celebrities but we would welcome the grief

'Keeping the Faith with the Blues'

Pretty sure she lived near Watford and commuted to Roots Hall when she had a season ticket. In fact I'd put money on it.

Alf features briefly in a couple of scenes in the excellent new documentary on the Feelgoods:-"Oil City".
I'm sure where SUFC is concerned her heart's in the right place.Silly thread really!

She turned her back on the club completely in the Steve Wignall era. A mate of mine is a close friend of hers and basically, she felt his treatment of Stephen Clark was absolutely shocking. It was the straw that broke the camels's back after Stuart Thurgood had already been shown the door. A few years back we tried to get her back for the LDV final (we wanted her to sing "Blue") but she told us to go **** ourselves.
