Im personally worried that PS will walk from the club when he goes to rebuild and we are still under an embargo.

He has done an amazing job under extreme circumstances and although it took time to warm to him i would miss him should he throw in towel.

Its quite obvious that Ronalds priorities lie away from building a team or even paying them!

Whats you biggest worry?

For once I agree with this though probably not in the sense you meant, he's still there every game supporting the team but his remit now is supposed to be the development side with Tara taking control of the footballing one, so yes, his priorities are away from building a team, they're concentrated on building a new ground which I fully expect we will hear at the AGM is - if it hasn't already - about to begin.

My worry is that the likes of Barker, Hall and Corr will decide enough is enough and slap in transfer requests (or refuse to sign) - for me, these are the three most important members of our squad. Without them we'd have been adrift in the basement long ago.

I agree my concern is loss of Manager and key players. PS has done a superb job in very difficult circumstances. Corr is a 20 goal a season striker so someone will have noticed, Hall has come on leaps and bounds, Ferdinand has really shown potential, need I go on!

Don't feel that the club, MD or any of the projects could take another 12 months of the same.

If the planned developments don't start in the next month or two then I really fear for the future.

with a stagnating development , Sainsburys are unlikely to release more funds, Season ticket sales will be slow and the clubs cashflow will dry up in the close season.
Some players will be able to move on, Strurrock may walk , MD could be wound up , this could be another crucial close season .

I think it could be very close mate.

The Club is screwed we are living on borrowed time. Sturruck had done a great job and I am sure if a club with a bit more ambition come in for him he will be off with more than half the players.
I have been saying for the last year that AFC Southend will happen with the club having to reform in the Ryman Premier, but most fans are happy to stick their heads in the cloud and think that a new Stadium and a decent team will happen. Sorry but its not going to happen thanks to Ron we are up the creek without a paddle.

My biggest fear is we will be getting rid of half the current squad and will struggle to bring in anything better. Leaving us in almost the same position we started in this season.

League Two next season will be miles more difficult to get out of. You only have to look at the sides that could be joining us to realise that.

Absolutely this, the medium term looks very bleak for us.

If we get rid of the right half of the squad, we'd struggle to get anything worse. However it's normally the ones you'd want to keep that go.

I fear losing Paul Sturrock and the support of Sainsbury's.

I feel that Paul Sturrock is essential to our survival. He built a team from virtually nothing and kept us in the league, and within a whisker of the play-offs. Imagine if a lesser manager came in and we were looking at the prospect of relegation this season instead of a mid table finish. I suspect relegation would have been the final nail in the coffin for Ron and Southend United FC.

The way Paul Sturrock has performed this season will mean someone else will be in for him anyway... prob Col Ewe.

We may as well get used to it now.

Why? there are loads of managers out there without jobs..how has he performed well this season..the division is dogshyte.

He has had his hands tied for sure, but that is nothing new.

Oh please pass me the hankie..Nobody wanted Sturrock..Ron saw a cheap answer to his financial problems and made him promises ...

Anyone who has heard Ron over the past seasons have heard his "we can't afford to be relegated" as we dropped back through 2 divs .I honestly believe at a stage of last season he made the decision that financially we would be off relegated and actions off the field sent us down.Ron has got lucky in somehow getting a experienced manager to stabilise a sinking ship.Just imagine if we were on our way out the league, would he still be here now hanging on?

With their wealthy owner who currently has cash to spend, it would'nt surprise me if the mighty 'Crawley Town' achieve a top 7 finish next season. Regarding our own situation, i fear we will become permanent residents in this division.

but what will crawleys wage budget be like, how do they work it out ? their crowds will be no bigger than 4,500.

It depends how strongly the Football League decide to enforce this rule. With Notts County, they merely hit them with a transfer embargo until the wage was brought back down to within the 60% of turnover threshold, although the criticism they received may influence them to act more heavily.

One of the owners of Crawley died last week as well, so I'm not entirely sure their position is as concrete as some may suggest.

It wasn't so long ago that Div 4 was our regular home and the heights of Div 3 were heady indeed! Our expectations have changed considerably, we've been spoilt in more recent years.
