He was awesome the year before, but someone told him he could play and unfortunately he believed them.

Remember the day we kicked off the second half vs Ipswich with 9 men because Andy Rammell had lost a contact lense and Gridelet wouldn't come out of the dressing room because he was superstitious and had to be the last one out?

Probably the most farcical thing I have seen in my time supporting Southend and given Ron Martin has been in charge for 14 years, that's saying something.

that was farcical but even worse was the appaling incident with the floodlights at Aldershot last season, or when we traveled all the way to Accrington and the game was off

My abiding memory of Gridelet is he claimed to be a male model and spent more time worrying about his hair than doing his job in midfield.
