If we're going to have Tony Currie, who didn't actually play for us, but broke is ankle getting onto the pitch at Roots Hall, then I'll add non-playing sub Doug Young 1973.

Don't you mean the 'gorgeous' Dave Young ?

In the 1920-21 Final Wolves lost to Spurs 1-0 at Stamford Bridge

Wolves had signed at the end of 1919-20 Burrill, Woodward and Marshall (see below) and all three played in the Cup final, in addition Sammy Brooks was also in the cup final side and later played for Southend in the 1924-25 season.

So FOUR Southenders in the Wolves team.

On the 30th March 1920 it was announced that Maurice Woodward had signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee of £700. Shortly afterwards George Marshall and top scorer Frank Burrill followed Woodward to Wolves for £800 transfer fees each. Undoubtedly these fees helped to keep the club on a sound financial footing, but it wasn’t going to help on the playing front.
