Jesus. Beating Blackburn with one of the best performances for years and then losing at home to Newport with a fairly strong side.

The worry is, this could be our line up for league games later on in the season if we have injuries and suspensions so if we can't perform against Newport how would we survive against some of the teams in our own division.....not good

the question is whether they would play like this in a normal game at normal intensity or whether it's the atmosphere of MEH

Agreed, but the players who come in to the team tonight should be strong enough to see off a lower league team, and that is not meant to sound cocky but we have to start beating teams like this in cups like this, I know the league is more important but this could have given us a bit of confidence that the fringe players were looking good and up for a game....but this sadly not the case here tonight

It's Southend ....you just get use to it over the years

We get drawn against the worst team not to get relegated to the National League last season - away! Get even luckier it is switched to be played at home.
Then......
You couldn't make it up!!

Agree, no excuses.

Watch Newport get West Ham at home now!

Nail on the head....you just couldn't make it up...but with Southend you can

Full Time.

That's brought us back down to earth after Saturday. Well beaten by a division 2 team playing 3 at the back (& that was very nearly playing Conference football last season until the last day of season).

All of a sudden, i'm not feeling as confident about Rotherham at the weekend now, as I did this morning.
