Nile Ranger

Why? He's probably one of the reasons Kavanagh left, upset the dressing room and in turn got Brown sacked. It's no surprise that despite his talents, not one club has given him a job.

I was all for giving him a chance but it turns out the man is poison.

Definitely not.

I’d rather we ended up non league than have scum like Ranger at the club. Had to question my loyalty when we signed him the first time, if there’s even a hint we are considering him for the future then I’m done.
Keys to the town? Would rather be able to look myself in the mirror thank you

What a ridiculous post, you’d rather see us in non league than sign Nile Ranger. There have been plenty of players over the years I haven’t like or hated but at the end of the day if the manager and chairman think they’re good enough to help us push forward then I’ll support them. When Ranger first came he was outstanding if a little unfit. If we could get a fit Ranger we would have one hell of a player. I’d be interested to see how Powell would’ve dealt with him and I have a feeling he would thrive under Campbell.

You support Southend United doesn’t mean you have to agree with the players or the manager that are signed. But to say you’d be off if we signed Ranger is a little extreme.

Ridiculous to defend Ranger. Like most I gave him a chance but never again. If you don't understand why and what that would do to the team then you must be total .........

okay know all

Bit rude?

As it goes, I am 100% with Rigsby on this. I remember Ron asking me, and others of us on the Trust Liaison Committee back then for our opinions, and, at the time, I said we should try and give him that chance, set him some guidelines etc. He threw that in our faces so many times, and was a pain in the backside to several of the other players who were given the task of "minding" him. Always thought rules didn't apply to him.

what YOU DONT UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE YOUR OPINION OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THEIRS IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE TOTAL …….

As it happens I probably do know a bit more about the Ranger fiasco than most.

PB had a chat with me after he was released from prison. Asking me if I could convert the bike shed to lock Ranger in of a night.

PB knew it was going to end badly once the parole board decide he should spend his tag time in Tottenham. He had attended the meeting and put the case forward that Ranger was one of only 3% of released prisoners who had a job to go to. It was obvious to all that living in Southend was the only slim chance of him not failing like so many others that are released. Still the parole board no best, as you can well imagine.

As I had also heard other stories via the landlords etc. My view to PB was it was doomed to failure because you can deal with one maybe two issues but with Ranger it could be any one of 20 things that will take its place.

Even if had spare space the answer would have been no. Ron had to pay the bond at his new place when he was finally allowed to move to Westcliff. Which of course was to already to late. When Nile was sacked a few months later he had managed to do some considerable damage, including breaking a granite work top. Apparently it was a few feet shorter than when he moved in. Even the removal men had to explain to cheeky little Nile that you cant remove things like the flat screen TV off the wall because it was the landlords......Therefor not yours to take.

Ron went to visit him in prison last time.....I bet he doesn't visit him next time......

We also know rather more of what went on in prison than most because Kev knows plenty of POs still at Pentonville and we are party to a lot of what went on, and, suffice to say, Ranger didn't exactly cover himself in glory whilst inside either.

I stand by what I said. Would rather be non league than have scum like Ranger at the club.
Who‘s signed this oh so talented player since he was released, sorry sacked? No one. Very good reason for that, he’s dirt and he associates with dirt. Gaol wouldn’t worry him in slightest, chance to catch up with some old friends.
I find defending Ranger ridiculous.

I’m not defending him, I’m merely pointing out your absolutely shocking statement! Why not just go and support a non league team now if that’s how you feel.

I’ve read some shocking posts on here over the years but this is up there with the most shocking! Rather be non league than sign Ranger

well rigsbyi have read what you said and have changed my opinion I was wrong and will always apologise if I have please accept
