Living about 10 mins from Grimsby and there is no snow here, it's a bit soggy but it's been dry today so unless something changes overnight I would expect the game to go ahead.

Grimsby fans seem to be pretty depressed at the moment and the majority are expecting very little from their squad at the moment so we need to go out on the front foot and take the wind out of their sails.

Very very wet, lots of standing water on the roads but it's due to stop raining soon, it normally drains quite quickly round here so it'll be a late pitch inspection.

Just come back from the obligatory walk and the weather is a cross between rain and sleet and a cold wind thrown in. I mention this as I used to hate weather like this at 3pm on a Saturday because you just knew you would be on the receiving end of a wet ball thwacked on the inside of the thigh just after ko, and it would sting like buggery. just got off the Grimsby fans Fishy forum. Quite a good read. God they are depressed but I have to say most predicting a win for them or draw. Those going for a Southend win are predicting a big score for us. I think given our poor record at Grimsby it's probably right to be cautious but let's stuff them. The team also are staying at the Oaklands Hotel. This looks quite plush so there can be no excuses. COYBB. Where do away teams stay when they play us??

The Holiday Inn at the airport is a popular choice for away teams......For big games I often spend several hours through the night doing laps round the hotel in my Fiat 500. We squeeze out of the sun roof with a big flag and a foot permanently on the car horn.
