They did indeed, all of the travel costs including coach fees as well as x 19 rooms at the travel lodge in Filton. My pal Desmond is relief manager there and said the boys were absolutely livid after hearing the news so they were.

Am I the only one who - because of the highlighted words - read this post in a Welsh accent?

Living about 10 mins from Grimsby and there is no snow here, it's a bit soggy but it's been dry today so unless something changes overnight I would expect the game to go ahead.

Grimsby fans seem to be pretty depressed at the moment and the majority are expecting very little from their squad at the moment so we need to go out on the front foot and take the wind out of their sails.

how’s the weather this morning @brigg blue ?

Fingers crossed this goes ahead. To keep getting to these far away locations and they get cancelled must be very frustrating.

So 5 hours before kick off, the most popular choices of players for the starting XI (in order of preference) are:

Hobson
Oxley
White
Akinola
Bwomono
Hart
Dieng
Reeco Hackett-Fairchild
Kyle Taylor
McCormack
Olayinka

Just come back from the obligatory walk and the weather is a cross between rain and sleet and a cold wind thrown in. I mention this as I used to hate weather like this at 3pm on a Saturday because you just knew you would be on the receiving end of a wet ball thwacked on the inside of the thigh just after ko, and it would sting like buggery. For this reason I'm glad it's the Southend lads that may risk a thwacking, and not me.

just got off the Grimsby fans Fishy forum. Quite a good read. God they are depressed but I have to say most predicting a win for them or draw. Those going for a Southend win are predicting a big score for us. I think given our poor record at Grimsby it's probably right to be cautious but let's stuff them. The team also are staying at the Oaklands Hotel. This looks quite plush so there can be no excuses. COYBB. Where do away teams stay when they play us??

You’d play Nathaniel-George or Walsh who are both wingers in central midfield rather than Demi who’s played there all season? Glad you’re not picking the team!
....seen enough of Demi this year thanks, would play Oxley in midfield rather than Mr. alwayslookbackwards. Reasonable right back and would swap him for Elvis so nothing against him, midfielder he ain't!!

Has anyone had problems paying for a match pass via ifollow today ?
Won't accept payment ..despite funds available....!!!!

And a lot of the fishy fans want the game called off....

The Holiday Inn at the airport is a popular choice for away teams......For big games I often spend several hours through the night doing laps round the hotel in my Fiat 500. We squeeze out of the sun roof with a big flag and a foot permanently on the car horn.
