Lol, well to me its a must win. We just need to get above two teams. Grimsby are one of them imo.

if we lose we will still be bottom and 4 points off them. Dont see how it isnt a must win. Its unlikely we will continue this good run of form for the remainder of the season, bound to have a wobble, so we must capitalise now.

Im sure the players understand the position they are in. They have been under pressure from the first loss, thankfully now we finally seem to have a squad that is rising to it and not just virtually throwing in the towel.
Obviously you havent seen our home form.

Thinking we may look something like this ......with a fluid formation and dieng floating

Ox
Elvis. White. Hobson. Hart
JD ANG
RHF Dieng olayinka
Akinola

Maybe see macca replace ang if it's to weak in the middle during the game.
I'm hoping we start with macca and jd but not sure we will .... The good thing about MM is he will listen and change things that aren't working so I feel quite confident he'l do what's needed to get a result
2-1 southend methinks .....possibly by a pen as were due one

Grimsby are going to be up for this. we are one team they really won't want to lose to as it means them going bottom. I can see a frantic first 15 / 20 minutes where we may just have to contain them. Obviously they aren't great so with our recent form you'd like to think once they blow themselves out we should dominate the game, but we've got to be careful not to go behind early on.

Grimsby supporting mate is convinced game will be on so let’s hope so ? As for the game, first goal is vital.

In these COVID times do we travel up the day before and stay over or travel up on the day?. With the weather warnimg for tomorrow we might not make it if we’re not there yet!

It’s suicidal to play Ang in middle as he is an winger ??‍♂️

We shall see. If you look out in Southend at the moment, the weather is fine. But, they say we're going to go white all over tomorrow with snow, the same is expected up the East coast, including Grimsby. Mind you, half the time they get the weather wrong. I hope it goes ahead, they are in such bad form at the moment, and we have the momentum.

Live in Shipley West Yorks - lots of snow here and forecast for 3am onwards for about 4-5 hours

I believe there was a pitch inspection today before the team left here. It's on a t the moment. They get the chance of a fine and pay our teams expenses if called off once our lads are there

Living about 10 mins from Grimsby and there is no snow here, it's a bit soggy but it's been dry today so unless something changes overnight I would expect the game to go ahead.

Grimsby fans seem to be pretty depressed at the moment and the majority are expecting very little from their squad at the moment so we need to go out on the front foot and take the wind out of their sails.

Grimsby is not the nicest place to go to and in January with the icy wind blowing of the North Sea its probably the grimmest place to play football in England.

I was there on New Years Day 1972 with a few other intrepid supporters for our top of the table clash - we lost 4-1, and the only time I have ever felt so cold was at that match at Milton Keynes hockey stadium in 2006.

I lived up that way for some years. I went to the games at Blundell Park in successive seasons. The first season, if I remember correctly, we had both already been relegated, We lost that one 5-1. Misery. The following season, we arrived late and had to be escorted around three sides of the pitch to the away end, getting grief as we went. I'm pretty sure they had Jason Lee playing for them on that occasion. Grimsby went one better. It was 5-0...

Let's hope for five for Blues this time. Imagine what that would do for our respective goal differences.

Grimsby played us off the park for 45 mins at Roots Hall recently. I think we need to be very professional and play well to win this game.
You're right, we do need to be on top of our game for this one but for the home game we were a goal up in no time which put us in a sit back and see frame of mind plus we started with Acquah and Sterling. I fully expect the Blues to start tomorrow with 11 players who will give their all. Someone said Grimsby will be up for it as if they lose we'll be above them. I reckon we'll be up for it for the same reason.

Do you know if Newport had to recompense us at all after the late postponement ?
