Breaking News Support The Team Not The Regime! New update 24/11

The average charity bucket collection at the ground on a match day so I'm told nets about £500.

When we ran the Moody Blues campaign in August 2017, a specific Shrimper cause of course like this we now have, we collected well over £3,000 plus a couple of Euros and some Greek sheckles (with online and other stuff bringing that up to £11,500) at a match day (the attendance that day was about 1,000 up on our current average). The Argyle fans too that wonderful day gave generously.

I'm sure for this new appeal an at the ground collection would do well, not everyone goes online (many inhabitants of the East Stand still struggle with decimilisation). Getting the club's permission for it tho might be interesting.
Please, what’s decimalisation?

Donated. 62 years a Shrimpers fan. I don't like bailing RM out but I can't see our loyal staff not being paid, especially close to Christmas. Southend United is its staff and its fans, owners and players come and go but the fans and staff live on. Thanks to all the fans from other clubs supporting this funding drive especially Wrexham. Football fans together.

Absolutely correct with that . Our sponsors/advertisers group have submitted a 4-page summary to National League chiefs setting out exactly what has been happening at the club in respect of the unpaid wages to staff . We have asked them to take swift remedial action against the club . The letter has been with them for a number of weeks and as yet we have not received a formal reply . It could be they were waiting to see the outcome of the winding- up petition . I will get back to you when we do get that reply .
Or it could be that it is beyond their remit because it isn't affecting the playing staff and/or football related creditors. Have you read the league rules to see if they have it within their power to take "remedial action" as you call it? It would probably be worth doing so.

However, you still haven't answered my question on a previous thread, which is what are you hoping to achieve with all this? It seems to me that the only thing you're going to do is hurt the one part of this club that is actually performing.

why do people repeat this ... ??

the point is that there is a strong revenue stream and with proper management a club should be able to survive.

If the turnover was say 2 million I could understand why there is a struggle to run a club.
It doesn't matter what the turnover is. It could be 20 million but if the out goings are 21 million your running at a loss. 7 million may sound alot but in terms of running a football club I would imagine it doesnt go far, as we are seeing now.

Do you have a list of the revenue for each NL club, and then how much investment each season they're getting from owners as well? That'll be interesting to see some actual research on this.

I believe "some" are waiting for "some" of their September salary.

October salaries are outstanding for "most" of the non-playing staff.

We are 2 weeks away from November salaries being due as well.

In short, Tom has been left up **** creek without a paddle. As for the staff, well there are no words unfortunately.
No home games until December either is worrying

As an Eaststander when I'm over and a busconductor at the time of decimalistion (Feb 1970) it was the switch over from pounds ,shillings and pence ie units of 12 to units of ten ie decimallsation.A couple of Eastern National clippies quit over it at the time.

It is within their remit . We support the team but not the regime . Some form of censure is necessary here - if nothing happens the non-payment of staff wages will just go on and on. It is not sensible to be easy-going where Ron is concerned . At some point you do need to confront wrong-doing and protect the interests of our excellent club staff .

I’ve read this post several times now & I appreciate this reply will seem combative, but they’re genuine questions that I cannot for the life of me, work out.

1. You have repeatedly given the impression you are - either directly or indirectly - associated with a sponsor of this football club, but when you’ve been asked to reveal who that is, you’ve refused. An anonymous sponsor always seems odd to me. I’d have thought someone paying for sponsorship would normally want their name/business to be highlighted. Strange.

2. You’re admittedly pushing to hurt the football club. Not the man behind it. They are two separate entities. The worst case scenario is that the club gets dragged over the coals, making the current plight even more unmanageable and eventually leads to it folding. You do realise that Ron would still win (and impressively more so) in that situation, because he would still hold all the land. The fans, as always, would be the ones who suffer, along with people - like sponsors for example - who’ll have lost money investing in the club

3. What will you/your associates gain from Ron/The Club suffering? If, as you claim, you are a sponsor, then as long as you’re paid your money and on time, what right do you have to suggest how he runs his business? Let alone seek out formal routes of having it sanctioned and punished. If you are a sponsor and you haven’t been paid, you have my sympathies & I’d suggest the legal route for reclaiming monies owed would be the way forward, not chasing a Football Division and asking them to do something, when It’s not their job to.

4. If you’re complaining to the League because of the abhorrent treatment of Blues Staff, then why not just pull your sponsorship? Surely that would have bigger and wider reaching repercussions? If it’s not possible, why not just walk away and be done with it when the contract ends?

Lastly, I think I have asked you before, but I don’t think you ever answered me, so apologies if I missed it… Have you or any of your associates, either directly or indirectly, campaigned against the FF development, on the basis that it didn’t contain enough affordable housing?
