Echo News Southend United staff still waiting for December's wages

We have to get to a position where we don't have to rely on the owner propping the Club up. The Club has to aim to be self sufficient and not spend beyond it's means.

For us that is awful long way off and the penalty for poor financial decisions made in the dim and distant past.

Management been paid? Of course. Can’t have those at the top go without

If we get to the point where we don't rely on an owner propping us up we are unlikely to be competitive even at this level, we definitely wouldn't be further up the leagues. All clubs to some extent are propped up by outside interests and all of them are spending beyond their means, the whole game has been setup that way

This cannot and should not continue. We require something from Ron. We need something from the chief executive. We need something from the board of directors. And we should have something from Stan. What are the plans? So far, it’s not happening is it chaps. It can’t be a ‘long game’ strategy if we can’t get past the ‘short game’ scenario

If people aren't paid tomorrow/tonight - will we see games start to be postponed as was rumoured to be close to happening earlier in the season?

I'm not saying he intended to do this as I'm sure he didn't, but Chris Phillips didn't help with the speculation with this one. He tweeted about non-payments to staff then tweets about a staff member leaving. Fans will naturally assume both of those things correlate. We really don't need any more negative fuel to add to the already uncontrollable blazing fire.

Will done to the staff member in question and it actually shows fantastic progression on the footballing side of things. The same as Hobson and Kensdale getting links to teams higher up. It's the new model that Stan and co had promised. It's the way a lower league club should be run. No one can knock or question the footballing department, it really is doing wonders.

Agreed. Nothing related at all not sure why Chris needed to add that as it just winds up fans even more.

Can we leave Stan out of this. He has family problems to deal with at the moment, far more important to him than all this stuff going on at SUFC. He will be back when he's ready.

You should have seen Chris Phillip “Southend United” Facebook page, he allowed members post vilest comments about Stan & Tom, if I wasn’t on a ban, I would comment on it.

Events at Southend United, Crawley Town and elsewhere highlight again why an independent regulator is needed across the pyramid. Clubs are the heartbeats of communities and need protecting. PL attempt to kill off regulator looks to have failed, fortunately. Regulator needed asap.

You sound that you feel that you have a right to know all.

You say we NEED something from Ron, on that i dont believe many if any would disagree - you're spot on. But then you add we NEED something from the CEO and the Board of Directors - possibly but we dont know how (especially the CEO') their hands are tied.

However then, you extraordineraly, change the rhetoric. Apparently we SHOULD have something from Stan. SHOULD so much more emotive, personal as if he owes as something. Where the truth is we owe him so much more.
