Pubs in Southend

Hi Mad
I am certainly no drink connoisseur, so happy enough with anything which sells Carling or Fosters.
Not looking for flying bottle fighting pubs however if it is close to the ground, happy to give it a shout.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to post.
Pretty much any pub in Southend that sells Carling has the potential to become a flying bottle fighting pub.

You should be OK in the Last Post which is the 'Spoons in the town centre.

Or a classic, and very much of its time, Oranjeboom ad! Remember buying a pint or two because I thought it was cool drinking a Dutch beer.....the foolishness of youth 😄
Sad really...

Oranjeboom was founded in Rotterdam in 1671. The brewery there closed in 1990, with production shifted to Breda. That brewery was sold to Interbrew in 1995 and was closed in 2004 by InBev, Interbrew's successor.
Production of the brand Oranjeboom was moved to the Dommelsch brewery.
In October 2013, Oranjeboom was relaunched as a "quirky" new European style lager...

Whether or not it tastes anything approaching what came out of the Rotterdam brewery I'll leave to others to discover.😉

I remember my father used to sell it in our off-licence back in the early 60's as a novelty brew, this Continental beer called lager...

We fortunately had CAMRA to help save our traditional brews and the Germans had Reinheitsgebot, 'Purity Law', which still applies today but a lot of the other famous European brews have been ravaged by 'Big Beer'.

Off licence near me in Leigh sells it, now in a blue can!. Strength 5%, brought a few but nothing special imo. £1 per 500ml can.

Had a couple of proper beers in Leigh Legra Tap on the London Road nr Westleigh lights
(used to be the Black Rose PH many, many years ago). Excellent and I will be going back.

Just become aware of a pub called Porters not far from the eastern side of Chalkwell Park in Westborough Road. I see it sells beers from the LOS Brewery (from a FB friend's post). Can any 'Zoners tell me their experience of it, please? Looks like it could be worth a visit.

Is this the place in the middle of a parade of shops with the mock-mock tudor interior?
