Plus another thought from the Barnet forum which I enjoyed:

Looking forward to this. Only time I've been to Roots Hall 1994 Southend v Birmingham 11,000 packed in.
Fry returned with Barnet players who had played for Southend to say the atmosphere was toxic is an understatement. Southend fans sang Karen Brady is a whore for 90 minutes. Great game and àtmosphere
It was f****** whore actually.

Same team I presume from Saturday?
Or as I suspect Lomas dropped again for Lopata (harshly)
Powell and Hyde up top, any news on the fragile one cardwell.
Great opportunity to go 4th....blimey after the last few years saying we could go 4th...in any division sounds good.
Fingers crossed for Gus.
Yea, gone for the same team but with that change - Lopata for Lomas. Agree its harsh, but HAVE to play your best players. Lomas time will come.

Oh and JD for GSM who prob wont be risked?

Powell and Hyde to continue up top. Showed flashes of understanding at Torquay and dont expect Cardwell to be fit to start.

Cannot change a winning side through, Lomas played well and he is much better at RCB.

Nothing has changed 3 decades on .... well apart from different songs perhaps.... 😉

Ticket sales are creeping up, now at 5916 home bums on seats. We should break the 6k barrier tomorrow. Shame we haven't shifted a few more but there you go.

The problem is, it couldn't have been given that media push until Wednesday was out of the way. Had we had a full week of build up, we would have shifted more.

Nonetheless, it will be a good gate with a good atmosphere.

Pretty decent attendance considering Southend are national league. I'm surprised Southend are still getting 6k considering the never ending off field rubbish.

What about the four million times previous to that The only injury ralph hasn't had is spontaneous combustion.
Cardwell also always injured.
Throughout his career ralph has averaged 17 games a season.
I feel you're being harsh and have not considered a number of factors:

1. Injuries are part of the game in a players career.
2. We have inadequate training facilities currently due to inadequate funding by RM = increased injury risk
3. We don't have a great pitch currently due to inadequate funding by RM = increased injury risk
4. We are playing on average 2 games a week at present = increased injury risk
5. We have a reduced squad so cannot rotate (which is essential when playing twice a week) due to inadequate funding by RM = increased injury risk
6. We don't have extensive medical services fitting for a competetive football club, or essential advanced medical equipment that can detect injuries early as other clubs do - due to inadequate funding by RM = increased injury risk
9. Stress increases the risk of injury, and not being paid for weeks would be stressful for anyone.

I know of a situation regarding one squad player (not prepared to share details) last season that had extended time out because of a f##k up by the club, and that can only increase the risk of injuries reoccurring long term. Again because the medical services were inadequately funded ... by guess who - RM!! ..... Not the players fault!!

These guys have been doing their best under difficult circumstances so I think they deserve a bit more credit and appreciation.

I'm sure when they are fit and we're winning, you're praising them.

Barnet fan here, how's Taylor and Wes doing for you? We had an absolute nightmare with our keeper Tuesday. Never looked like losing until suicidal rush of blood. We then missed a pen to equalise so just one of those freak results as the performance was excellent. Looks like a decent crowd expected. Friday is a bit of a killer for our support so no idea but hopefully 300. You were excellent at the Hive earlier this season but at same time possibly our worst performance. We've got pace and goals in us. Fingers crossed our keeper is fit as based on our managers post match interview the keeper won't be playing regardless. All thought young he's played 20plus games but he's terrible. Hopefully we won't have a Darren Currie love in, he did an okay job with a truly horrible bunch of players but his football possession based as he said was so slow and boring.

I was at that game. The most visceral atmosphere I’ve ever evidenced at Roots Hall.. what a performance tho..
