Last night was my first sleepless night over it all, the more you look at it, the more you realise, we are absolutely doomed.

Paul Clark hit the nail in the head too, if we was to get this new stadium, we as a club was supposed to be fully sustainable, well we would if the club Southend United owned any of it, sadly anything that will likely make money will no doubt be moved into one of Ron’s companies.

Exactly ! Ron initially sold it to us as the saviour of our financial problems. But, the longer this goes on, it seems the more debt we accrue and all the assets, rent etc will be handed to Ron'd co.s. He's given his word about SUFC having the banquetting. Well, woopee ! What if we get no bookings, because it's situated on a building site ?

I think fans might need to look up what asset stripping is before accusing anyone. So far he's actually developed better training pitches than we had. If FF is built we will have a better ground.

2 March 1999, Roots Hall Ltd acquired the ground for £4m. That’s 24 years ago, so I guess anyone under the age of 40, unless they know someone who knows or have dug into the history of the management of the club might not realise this.

They also probably don’t appreciate that SUFC have been loaned possibly in the region of £25m by Ron’s companies over that period. The rent he charges is paid by a loan from him. In 2018 he wrote off £6.8m. All these loans must have cash behind them - he has now run out of cash and the clubs costs still exceed its income, as they have done every season. Maybe he should double the costs of tickets next season?

Unfortunately he has no exit strategy from this position.

It was not Ron's agenda to change the funding of the stadium as you well know. Sainsburys bailed out, the council decided no retail hence housing. I think we would all like it to have happened years ago but that's life

I thought the credit crisis killed off the 2008 plans? I do think that was really bad luck as opposed to Ron changing something to suit his agenda.

He certainly raises funds by hocking land, but this land was never owned by the club. I’d agree that he’s borrowing against future profits he’ll make on the development.

It was Ron's fannying about, yes Sainsburys pulled out of RH gifting him 5 mill in the process. Any building project will have obsticles with the plans and how the countries demographics change if you drag it out for 24 years. Look how many stadiums have been built elsewhere in that period of time. This is all about maximising RM's profits not about giving us a new home.

Possibly but RM will always blame somebody else. It is 100% sure that over 24 years obsticles will occur. His main problem is and always has been his reluctance to accept anybody else to share the project. He must hate the debts that are adding up across all avenues but they are self made. He is a megalomaniac in every sense.

Having said all this this is really groundhog Day. The Trust in its first incarnation was formed exactly when Ron took over. The reason. Only one. He was a property developer and fans were worried that there was a conflict and that he would not have the best interests of the club at heart. We're nearing the endgame. All we can do now is keep our fingers crossed that the plans are realised. At that point the next agenda starts which is the new owners.

NO ONE IS DEFENDING RON MARTIN! This is as big a lie as the ones people accuse Ron of telling. I haven't seen a post in defence of Ron for years. I have however seen (and made) posts not necessarily agreeing with the proposal to remove him from the club at this moment in time. That is a totally different point.

Just because not everyone is on the same page does not mean anyone is defending him.

Some people will interpret events in different ways, others may see things differently. It also doesn't mean they know him or are a shill. It just means they may not agree with other people and might have a different opinion as to the outcome. Everyone is allowed to have a different opinion.

Please treat that with some respect, even if you don't agree with it.

Im an exile ,but SUFC has been part of me since i was a kid running around the streets of Southend ,giving day trippers a hard time down the seafront during summer ,Personally i dont care if RM makes a pot of gold out of my club , its the way he has gone about it i dislike, ,All i want is my club to survive ,with a good reputation not a soiled one as is, .To have a sustainable future where players and staff are paid on time also creditors ,For the supporters to be appreciated and kept up to date with the ins and outs of whats happening within the club , for the management to be given a decent budget each season to work with and a team that gives 110% win or lose and are proud to wear out shirt.
