Breaking News Club Sold! (stc)

I'm hearing that the Spread Eagle, Blue Boar and The Fish house are very pleased at this news.
Mate of mine & his son who came to the game, had a pre match meal in The Fish House. Really rated it.
Without the club staying at Roots Hall, all 3 of those establishments would suffer a substantial downfall in their yearly takings & possibly put their futures in doubt?.

RM has been/is involved in the consortium to some degree, but to what level who knows.

There was a quote in Chris Phillips' article about the dismissal of today's WUP. The quote was from a fan who spoke to Ron at the High Court.

The quote was "He said they’ve brought some really good investors into the club for Justin." He, being RM.
No it didn’t mean Ron. But I think we will find out who “they” are in due course..

Justin Rees steps out on the pitch at Roots Hall to greet the fans then pulls off a full skin-suit disguise and reveals himself to have been Ron Martin all along.

"I told you I f**king love this club, you idiots!"

*roll credits*
Uncannily I was going to write a similar post on the Justin Rees thread but you beat me to it.

The Fish House will survive. They have a large loyal customer base. Weekdays at 4.30 -7pm, they have a lot of delivery guys queuing up as well. If I had to put money on it, I would say one of those 2 pubs will fold. Hope not though.

I can actually go for a beer with mates and not spend the first pint shrugging my shoulders and replying “**** knows” to well meaning questions about what’s going on at Roots Hall.

I was just giving up trying to explain by the end because basically it was too depressing and confusing.
And so say all of us

It was me who spoke to Ron. Ron said that ‘we’ve’ introduced some great investors to Justin. He did not say that he was involved. However In hindsight it was a question I should have asked!
I wonder if the 'we've' introduced in effect actually means TL has ?

Be interesting to see the pecking order of the new consortium once the participants are announced! Obviously Justin is head of the table but are the rest going to be equal in the running of the club or are some todgers bigger than others 🤔

It does make one worry that an investor that Ron has introduced may be involved. Are they involved with Ron and is he then still involved with the club?

I'm also a little on edge that Ron 'gets on' with JR. Ron doesn't get on with anyone, especially in negotiations.

We do need to find out a hell of a lot more about whom out new owner/owners are. Apart from a quick Google search, we know nothing at this point.

I know, but talking to a staff member in the Spread, they are really struggling on non match days. Some days they get less than 5 customers all day.
Maybe an outside real ale bar with covering out in the beer garden with a bbq banging out burgers hot dogs and onions on match days and nights,as for non match days take a good look at re inventing the place with pub crub etc oh and maybe the odd smile and thank you from some staff, speculate to accumulate.

Yes what I've read is training ground for £1 - it must be the new one as B&L is part of the FF housing development.

£1 for each isn't quite the bargain it may seem - need to include the debts that come with each asset - don't think I've seen what that is publically, but it'll be in the millions, wouldn't surprise me if getting on for £10m or so as this is what Ron stated as being the approx asking price for the lot a while back
The new one will still be part of/close to the FF housing development. It's not clear what is happening yet. B&L is easily accessible from the dual carriageway, the other one is in the middle of a potential 1400 home housing estate and resultant very busy roads. All will soon be revealed.

I thought Jez Moxey and co were supposed to be looking after this - perhaps they are responsible.

Is it? I'd have said it's on the edge of it.

B&L is owned by RM and was to be bulldozed to make way for access to the stadium site/Supporters Way, etc. I imagine the B&L land will still very much form part of the site plan even without the stadium.
