The 8 though the gate

If you look at catchment Boroughs as Southed CC (319,000), Rochford DC (86,000), Castle Point DC (90,000) and possibly Basildon DC (188,000) as your starting point you are looking at a population of around 600,000!!!

That is a lot of potential!

Armchair "fans"...!

I expect if we continue playing the brand of football we are at the moment, and we get the big rebuild and return to the EFL uderway, people will start to look with interest.

With so many years of poor management and lack of investment in the club and its infrastructure, its no wonder that most locals look elsewhere.

1) its easier to watch games on TV when you are in the Prem / EFL
2) many people follow family loyalty over generations and
3) The match day experience at Roots Hall at the moment isnt great for anyone not used to it.

We already have the team doing well. The consortium are committed to running the club properly and the match day experience being improved. Sort these out properly and sustainable, and suddenly the local population will want a piece of the action. Remember we took over 20k to Wembley!
