Ticket News Gateshead (a) - Mon 5th May 2025

We would take 1100-1400 max so they'll be no issues with tickets.

Maybe, if we get through and play FGR we'd have a fight for tickets but definitely not this one.

Both away ends hold in the region of 3000 plus i believe. We will never sell either out on a midweek night. Likely to be the standard hardcore of around 400-450 plus extras

No chance it will be as low as that for a play off game.

I'd expect another 1500+. I think rochdales away end holds about 2000 and Oldhams 3000.

Id be more worried about FGR if we get there. One game from Wembley and not the biggest away end.

yes i make you right, just making the point that our nailed on away support is around the 400-450 and the numbers swell from that point. Not everyone that wants to go will be able to get time off for the play offs, my son can go to the first one but not the second if we get through due to work commitments. Weve hardly missed a game this season. As for Rochdale, i think Oldham took 3000 this season

Rochdale always put us on the side (and not the end) don't they?

Oldham moved away fans to the "other end" (the older stand?) of the ground a few season ago I think.

Any updates on tickets sold for this one
Gateshead are looking at 1500+ home fans which will be big for them

Apologies if mentioned already but I think the biggest away following at Gateshead so far this season was York City with 1,493 fans on 18th April.

Not seen that figure above mentioned before. Interesting.

Happy with a narrow win but looking more at the "nature of the performance" as an indicator of how we might fare in any play-off games. Keeping a clean sheet would also be nice .......... and has the added benefit that we (Southend United) would be above Gateshead at the end of the normal season.

AT the end of the day it doesn't matter how many we take, one man and his dog can be watching and if we choke and, don't score more goals than them, it will be another season in this ****'ole league. 5,000 fans at Derby and Sheff Wed still had a miserable journey home.
Luckily, we only have to score the same amount as them to progress.

Disagree, if youre going through a bad spell as a player and confidence is affected, having the crowd sing your name MUST be a boost to make you feel better and play better. The passion comes from the terraces and transmits to the team. There will be all sorts of scenarios during play when they need a pick me up.
Ive always felt during the covid years the team really missed us and what we could of achieved, especially those young lads doing a job, imagine our L2 exit being supported instead of an empty ground, imagine 10k Shrimpers willing on the team, perhaps swaying refs decisions.

I urge everybody to go see the live football on offer at Gateshead, get an atmosphere going and perhaps remind Gateshead of their awful form and lets get them nervous.
Boo when they touch the ball and jeer when they **** it up.
I'll be amazed if we dont sell out, i'm hoping we do. 2000 fans at Gateshead will look immense as our team walk out, itll be Gateshead that choke.

BLUES FANS COINCIDENCE!
Picked up a couple of gentlemen this afternoon in Chancery Lane, who wanted taking to a pub in Bethnal Green. On route they asked what team I followed. Of course I told them my team are a National League side. The mighty blues! Also adding that I travel to Newcastle on Sunday in preparation for our game at Gateshead on Monday. Sounding totally surprised, one said, they’d just been speaking to a fellow Shrimper in Ye Olde White Horse pub in St Clements’s Lane! Who too is driving up north to attend the match. Apparently the Shrimper was around mid twenties and named Conner. What’s the chances of meeting a random blues fan in a pub, then afterwords hailing a Black Cab and the driver also being a blues fan, plus both are travelling north for the game? It’s a small world!

Everyone wants to be a Southend fan these days.
