Well, still coming down from the high of last night. Probably the best experience I've had watching this club since the 2015 play-off final, and I can't think of a better comeback I've seen when you consider the circumstances as well. It was a game of momentum shifts. At 3-1 I thought it was game over but our second goal really gave us a lift and Dale started to look tired and edgy. Won't do ratings for everyone but Goodliffe (please sign him permanently), KAF and Hopper were the standout performers for me. Hayes had a shaky start but grew in confidence as the game went on, although I'm not convinced about him as number one long term. Credit to Maher for his subs as Leon and Kendall in particular had a real positive impact, not just with their goals.
Goes without saying the away support was excellent, lots of old-school faces in the crowd. Credit to the Dale fans too, they made it a good atmosphere all round.
Another thing: our game management at the end has been superb in the last two matches. Clearing the ball, holding it up, running down the clock. That's an area where I feel we've improved this season - previously we were maybe a bit naive but we seem to have become more streetwise, which you need to get out of this division.
Forest Green will be a step up but with our support and the advantage of having had this extra match we can do it. Southend away ole ole
