Post-Match Thread and Ratings Forest Green 2-2 Southend United..We win on Penalites 4-2

EDIT JUST READ PREVIOUS. DISREGARD IF TRUE. That is simply shocking. Especially as I need to get to LHR after game)

Park somewhere around Stanmore (I’m sure parking restrictions are in probably much worse now so would need investigation and maybe Queensbury works better)). Tube to Wetherspoons Kingsbury for brunch and beer. Tube to Wembley for Green Man, Wembley Way etc. Alternatively an early tube to Kingsbury then ditto the above. Takes all the grief away from the Tube journey. Including post match.

apologies if posted before but what was the running order of the penalties please?!? I think we went first and one of theirs blazed over rather than a Hayes save
We went first and Walker missed, they scored, Bridge scored, they hit the bar. Gubbins scored, they scored. Bonne scored off the post, they blazed over, then Gus stepped up and sent us to Wembley

The message about closures needs to be spread early through SUFC and OAFC. That’s utter bs. I’m guessing they didn’t plan for a big final

Well it seems lots of happy people today.
May the good times start to roll again and let’s hope at last some good fortunate is coming our way as I think we deserve it giving what we have all been through.

Feel for the SUFC staff behind the scenes now with having to make all the plans and arrangements and trust me the work that goes on is unbelievable as Apes is dealing with a lot atm with Orient as they play there on Sunday.

Let’s all just saviour this moment and feel good factor and take it all with us at the Final

We went 1st

Walker - Low leftish, saved as it had no power.
Cardwell - Low right, sent keeper wrong way.
Bridge - High left, keeper went right way but no chance.
Knowles - Hit the bar, leathered it very hard.
Gubbins - Bottom corner right, keeper went right way but no chance. Brave lad & utter quality strike.
McCann - Hight left, Hayes got a touch but too much power.
Bonne - Lowish left, thundered it onto the inside of the post. The look on his face as he realised it had ricocheted across the goal but over the line was classic. He was bricking it.
Sercombe - Tried to hit the top of the stand & did.
GSM - Low right, keeper went wrong way. Cool as anything.

I've always thought you put you best natural strikers of a ball on penalties irrespective of where they play. Gubbins depsite his other flaws is a really good passer & hits it cleanly. Walker to me, although a striker, isn't a natural at getting a great contact.

They only gripe about anything last night was Aaron Mclean on the commentary and his clear hatred of Southend. He couldn't have had his tongue any further up Cotterills a*se if he tried.
Made me laugh that he said Cotterill had left no stone unturned and planned for every eventuality. Bet his plan didn't include losing 🤣

Yeah. We both shouted at the TV at the point as well. ‘He’s really done his homework’ did he bollocks.

That’s shocking.

Wembley Central isn’t far, but it’ll be prime for flash points if both clubs have to use it.
Bakerloo won’t be putting on extra trains like Jubilee would for finals day - maybe TFL can defer ???? Even if just shuttles from point X (Baker Street) to Wembley

Why does he hate Southend? i used to see him play at Grays and was banging the drum to sign him, he would have been great for us but I think went to Peterburg instead.
