A question I've been pondering. I like Hayes, but he is a weak link. We've scraped through despite, not because of, him. He doesn't save that much and could be more commanding. Collin's record at the start of the season speaks for itself. However, I think it's way too risky to bring him back in for Wembley. Hayes has good and bad days and he's due a good one. I trust him to rise to the occasion.

Voted for Collin for next season. Wasn't until after i voted I didn't know if this was for the final or just in general. For the final its a no brainer. If Collin is still injured (and not match fit) then Hayes.

Next season its Collin

Wembley - Hayes

Next Season - Colin

But it all depends on how pre-season goes etc, we're not there week in week out at training
Definitely this.

Voted Colin but post isn’t clear whether we’re talking final or next season. Think Collin is my favoured keeper next season but not a chance Hayes doesn’t start at Wembley, which is absolutely the right decision.

As pointless as the Maher out thread.
Apologies, I misread and thought it was for the Wembley final but it appears to be (prematurely) for next season. In which case my answer would be Collin will make a great #2 to a new permanent goalkeeper as part of ongoing personal development and many, many thanks to Hayes for his efforts.

My preference would be to sign a new number one in the summer - especially if we get promoted - and have either Hayes or Collin as number 2. However, they're both under contract until next summer so can't see that happening. Maybe with a full pre-season behind him Collin can reestablish himself as number one, as Hayes just doesn't fill me with confidence at all.

Collin is injured. Long term I am not convinced Hayes is a whole lot better than Collin tbh, I thought he should have done a lot better with both goals on Wednesday. It was like watching Mark Oxley.

I can already see a few signs as to why Barnet bombed him.

For me watching from afar Colin is a much better keeper. But if he has an injury you just can’t play him on Sunday week.
Hayes isn’t a bad keeper and he has been ok since signing, just not as consistent as clean sheet Colin.

Getting down low seems to be a massive issue for Hayes. We've seen this most recently in Rochdale's first goal and both goals at FGR where Inniss and Osadebe both headed it into the floor. By no means a new technique (think Thomas Müller in the 2012 Champions League final,) but pulling off a decent header in this style is a bit like trying to bowl a yorker: head it too low, the ball won't travel towards goal on target; head it too high, the ball hits the keeper on their body.

That he’s not as good with the ball at his feet and Kev has spent all season looking for other options.
I think we've been looking at other options as we only had 1 keeper and Kev wanted back up. It's interesting your views on playing with his feet as I don't think Hayes fits that category - Hayes rarely plays as the sweeper type keeper, balls back to him are usually launched long rather than short to another defender like Collin does.

If you think Kev wants a keeper good with the ball at his feet then between Hayes and Collin - Collin is imho superior

Have you not been watching?......has not got one assett other than clapping everyone, would make a better cheer leader!
We have got to Wembley despite him, why can't people be honest?
