Wembley tickets

Wet Spams ground would be easier than Spurs to get to and Stratford is so well connected that travel would work for both sets of fans. 62,500 not ideal but better than Wembley under current restrictions. Though I appreciate Oldham fans might not have taken too kindly (same as Old Trafford on the flip side.)

Cardiff would be the best reasonable alternative for both teams though realistically a change of venue cannot happen at such short notice.

Our only hope is lobbying and common sense from the Met. If Old Trafford can get 80K match day with its relativity poor connections it IS possible. I’ve been there for a cup semi.

Not to be too histrionic here but this might be the most incensed I have ever been as a football fan.

This buildup should be a momentous celebration of sport, community and multiple generations rejoicing at watching their team compete at the national stadium. Memories of a lifetime, to say we was there. So many friends and family got excited for this. Gone. Robbed.

Every player on that pitch would have dreamt of days like this since they were children. What they work their whole lives for. Why we as fans travel up and down the country exerting our hard earned for.

Instead we are having to beg and pester MPs, footballers, journos and celebrities on social media for help. Signing petitions at midnight.

All of this caused by a fallacy that having only two local train stations available - despite fact the national Rugby team hosts 80,000 spectators at Twickenham which is serviced by a lone train station. Plus a plethora of other football stadia across the country only being serviced by limited public transport.

Football fans constantly being lectured by the games elite that they care deeply about the integrity of the pyramid and reaffirming that lower league/grassroots is the backbone of the sport. Where the **** is this sentiment now?

Relentless political/societal messaging about environmental dynamics and how sport can do its bit....yet dangling us a snide, mouldy carrot of a potential allocation increase if we deploy an unfeasible load of coaches to ram up the roads of the capital city.

What a f*cking disgraceful sh*tshow this really is. Has this actually ever happened before to other teams? Is there really going to be thousands of Southend & Oldham fans having to watch on TV at home in view of thousands of empty seats?

What a crushing way to kill the ecstasy of the past couple weeks. Dismayed beyond comprehension.

I could easily drive to Upminster or Shenfield, take a train and underground combo to Neasden Station, and then walk to the stadium. That would be cheaper than coach travel, especially the club option. But I am currently considering buying coach tickets from the Shrimpers Trust for myself and my son. Can Trust representatives confirm that those booked onto Trust coaches who have also bought match tickets via the Club's website will not be included in the 17.500 allocation limit?

Also, I am not sure if anyone else has pointed this out on the thread, so many words already for completely understandable reasons.

But the pressure on the open railway stations will of course be considerably eased at the end of the match, due to the Oldham fans slinking off after they lose, and all of us staying behind to enjoy the massive and lengthy celebrations, presentation of the trophy, etc. Judging by the FA Cup final last week, there were still masses of Palace fans in the stadium for ages afterwards.

Probably you’re right. But again, most won’t be buying four each.

Those that are buying multiples will probably be looking to take care of other real fans who are reaching out.

One of my mates from work wanted to come. He wanted me to get him a ticket. I was going to. Not a chance I’ll be doing that now as other fans I know who might struggle will get preference.

Surely the majority will just buy for themselves or be thinking that way.
In a WhatsApp group with about 20 die hard fans. Half are seasos, half aren't due to location, finances etc. But all are Southend through and through.

Every season ticket holder is buying the maximum possible to sort the others out as well as kids etc. Based on this, small sample admittedly, not many will go to general sale.

Yeah this seems to be happening with those I know (me included). But some season card holders must only be buying one, or two tickets. Maybe the mods can pin a thread where people can advertise spares? That’s if common sense doesn’t prevail ie they just increase our allocation!

Thanks Stan. An issue though is that once the 17.5k allocation has gone then it is necessary to buy a coach ticket (at £40 for us) to get a match ticket. That coach is from Southend to Wembley. Many of us don't live in Southend - many would have to travel through London to get to Southend! It's ridiculous to link sales to coach travel.
As an example, why would my son want a coach from Southend - he can get a direct train from Leamington Spa to Wembley Stadium. If he doesn't get one of the 'unrestricted tickets' it'll just cost him £40 more for the match ticket - what a rip off. Even worse if they somehow enforce the coach travel to get entry to the stadium he'll have to go past Wembley Stadium into London and out to Southend to board the coach. It's a farce.

I've been trying my best to get over, but flights, hotel, getting to Wembley ( by train) is looking at close to €1,000 for me and the lad. Already unlikely.

Now this farce!

So I'm supposed to fly in to Stansted, Gatwick or Luton (no flights on the right days to SEN), get to Southend, and on to a coach? Or... fork out even more for coach tickets, not use them, and fork out for the train anyway?

Ludicrous. Disgraceful.

But hey, we're only the lifeblood of football.

Or if they put on rail replacement services from say Baker Street to Wembley.

Surley TfL can put on buses/coaches from a station. Even say everyone pays a fiver for it.

Absolute joke.
Yep, that’s what I was thinking too, they could pick two other stations with decent capacity near Wembley (one for each club) and lay on shuttle buses to Wembley from there.

So the club need to find 150 coaches potentially?

It’s a nonsense- why not also not include in the 17500 people who are driving and have booked official parking? They won’t be use the stations either? I will have 5 in my car, I in the Wembley Stadium parking, why should my 5 tickets come off the 17,500 allocation?
We’ve done exactly the same and looks like unless you’re a ST holder everyone else won’t have a chance to get one! Why haven’t they done a driving and parking option but they can for coach?! F***ing fuming 🤬

There’s four of us on 2 season tickets using private driveway parking and we ain’t going nowhere next a ****ing train it’s just not fair on the non season tickets fans, what a shambles.

I wonder if our allocation also counts comp tickets? I presume all staff members of the club will get a ticket plus friends and family of coaches and players. There’s probably a whole load more who are ‘entitled’ to comp tickets too

Hopefully they'll travel by coach!

Doing the rounds on WhatsApp, has anyone else heard this story?

“Right. Straight up facts from the club, they’ve just emailed after I asked what the delay was.

DAZN and the national league are furious that the semi was ruined by the pitch invasion and Gus was almost seriously injured, thus damaging their product and the perception of the league.

For this reason, the NL asked Wembley to reduce our allocation to 17.5k, but the club have said that’s outrageous and unfair, pointing out Oldham fans were on the pitch at York too. So the NL said fine, we’ll apply the same to Oldham.

Now the club are panicking as they know we could potentially sell twice that number and have agreed with the league and the FA they will identify everyone on the pitch and ban them from the final.

Only once they’ve given over all the names and proved the fans on the pitch will not get a ticket, will the NL and Wembley and DAZN agree a higher allocation.

The police are helping pore over the footage and it’s understandably taking time.

Frustrating for everyone, but it’s been ruined by those who couldn’t contain their excitement and heed the warnings clearly issued during the game.”
Ha ha, they’ll never identify me and my mate Wayne Jennings from Benfleet.
