Interesting quote in there, obviously covering their back but goes against what folks were saying that the planned works were made known before the stadium was booked:Pathetic statement in my opinion it's your competition take ownership of the issue you absolutely's
Whether Wembley was decided long before TfL scheduling their engineering the latter is posted SIX months in advance. Ample time for contingency arrangements to be put in place. Also I refuse to believe TfL didn’t speak to the league. You can bet your life some conversations were had along the lines of we’ll only get 20-30K so the closures won’t be an issue. Seems to me to be some wriggling going on.Pathetic statement in my opinion it's your competition take ownership of the issue you absolutely's
Yep, I’m not on tik tok, ****ter etc but I am on FB Groups.Touts ?
Everyone needs to absolutely hammer them for this on social media. Amateurish planning and organisation. Whatever they’re doing to try and rectify the situation, it clearly isn’t enough. An extra 4k tickets? Cheers lads, big gold star for you.Pathetic statement in my opinion it's your competition take ownership of the issue you absolutely's
it's exactly this.I get what you're saying but I honestly still think it all comes down to money and a lack of planning. Opening up more parts of the ground has to be agreed and paid for in advance. When the organisers and the venue know there is guaranteed revenue, it's all sorted.
To hire a venue you want guaranteed revenue. So when a band/ singer or a high profile game is on, you can charge £120 a ticket and every seat is sold. That's guaranteed revenue already paid, which can then pay the staffing and operational costs. The food and beverages are a huge bonus.
When you're only charging £40 an adult and half the price for seniors and kids, there is no profit but you've still got the same costs for staff that is would cost for a high profile event. You're asking for an awful lot of food and drink sales to make up for the shortfall. Let's be honest, how much do people really buy? Most fans on here, including myself, have spoken about which pub they are going to before the game. Families might buy a bit of food and 1 drink. It's not really a lot.
I stand by it, I just don't think the NL anticipated two big sides playing and they can't/couldn't afford to open the rest. They just won't admit it. Some might say conspiracy but it's logical. Far more logical than this travel nonsense and asking for 350 coaches to come into a congested city by a Mayor that wants us to go green!
Whether the external pressure might make them get staff in for the day and open up some more, I really hope so. Fingers crossed for everyone![]()
Name and shame themYep, I’m not on tik tok, ****ter etc but I am on FB Groups.
I’m reviewing at the moment, one might actually be a wind up (which is almost as bad). I’m off to watch my HK Super Vets (over 45s) team last game of the season. Win tonight we win the league. I finally chucked my boots in at the end of January but the social side is irresistibleName and shame them
Tin pot league run by tin pot idiots! The National League wish to make the following statement regarding Promotion Final ticketing allocations.
Since the initial Promotion Final ticket allocations were confirmed with clubs last week, the National League has been in regular dialogue with both clubs and all relevant authorities to find suitable solutions to ensure as many supporters can attend as possible.
Clubs were given an initial allocation of 17,500 unrestricted tickets with availability to increase capacity through available coach ticket packages.
The intention was to always review this situation against demand. Yesterday, Wembley Stadium supported by TFL and the train operating companies provided both clubs with an extra 4,000 tickets each.
The additional capacity has been achieved through a strengthened rail plan on both the Bakerloo and Chiltern routes along with additional parking capacity secured at Fryent Country Park in Brent.
Further tickets can also be made available to clubs who prioritise the sale of tickets via coach packages. We would encourage both clubs to support this initiative to ensure as many fans as possible can attend the Promotion Final at Wembley Stadium on June 1.
All spectators should plan their journey to Wembley Stadium well in advance. Guidance for all fans travelling to the Vanarama Final can be found here.
Capacity restrictions for events at Wembley Stadium are set by the relevant authorities in conjunction with TfL. Any decisions on capacity restrictions cannot and have not been made by the National League.
We share the disappointment felt by fans of both clubs and are working with all the relevant authorities – including both Southend United and Oldham Athletic. However, we also recognise that the safety of fans is paramount importance. All efforts to increase capacity need to be done so in a co-ordinated and appropriate manner that has fans’ safety at the heart.
Wembley Stadium has been the confirmed venue for this season’s Promotion Final since last year, long before the planned closure of Wembley Park station was announced. Events of this size take months of planning and consultation. As such, seeking alternative venues at short notice was not deemed a viable option.

How many there?How many ther
They only announced the date a couple of months ago. So it could be true that:Whether Wembley was decided long before TfL scheduling their engineering the latter is posted SIX months in advance. May have been the confirmed venue ‘since last year’ BUT did they ever confirm / check the date with all parties, like TFL ?? Suggests not. The NL announced confirmation of playoff details on the website only on 20th February….The National League wish to make the following statement regarding Promotion Final ticketing allocations.

There's plenty of logic in restricting capacity if the train network cannot cope with the numbers - Wembley Park is brilliant for tfl and police to control large numbers of people - with Wembley Way traffic free it's basically a huge queue for the tube. As far as I'm aware neither wembley central nor Wembley stadium stations are anywhere near as good for this.I get what you're saying but I honestly still think it all comes down to money and a lack of planning.
